Well, mufflers are installed on the Cat ($2,000 worth). Going out this weekend to meet Marine Police and see if I can pass the test. Law says 86 decibels behind the boat. Yall keep your fingers crossed. I'll let you know monday if it worked. I did'nt have it checked before, but the neighbors ain't been to happy with me. Yall have a good weekend.

Idiots with money? Why would you make such a comment like that? Maybe you were refering to my neighbors!

Past the test. Reading was 85 dcbls. Boat is very quite now. Guess I am good to go for the summer now.

Congrats Cat Boat. I thought that it was going to be impossible even with mufflers to pass the 85 decible test due to that being almost whisper quiet. Have you driven it? Any loss of power due to increased back pressure? There should be nothing that anyone can complain about on this site with everyone running mufflers.

Skater, the engines are unbelievalbly quite. I dont care much for the sound as they are now, but it is o.k. Yes, it seems that i lost about 300 or so rpms, and speed went from 108 down to 99. That is pretty significant i think, but not much i can do about it. I can remove them when we go to coast easy enough. You going to lake this weekend?

Sorry to hear that the mufflers created that much of a loss in power. At least now you are legal and they should neutralize one of the major arguments that some people have against the fast boats. I will probably be down at the lake either on Saturday or Sunday. I have not made up my mind on which day to come down.

Hate to see you waste that money and suffer loss of performance, plus the true gut sound of what a boat like that should sound like. If the boat came from the factory with Silent Choice or Captains Call exhaust with no mufflers it is legal, after market it is not. That is the purpose of the switch of course to run it through the foot.

I would have liked to run silent choice/captains call, but the boat has extention boxes on the transom/drives, so running exhaust through the foot was no option. That is the way it goes i guess. See yall this weekend.

you really shouldn't be running 100 on an inland lake anyway ..uh maybe lake Michigan.... If you are responsible -which it sounds like you are- you'll save those thrills for the ocean. Thanks again for you consideration of folks on the lake!

I think you might still beat me to the bass. How fast is your trolling motor? How many live wells? Just funning.
