Some family members of mine, as do we all, enjoy docking on an island to cook out with friends and family. This particular family loves turtle island. A couple of weekends ago they went to cook out. They were astonished at the amount of trash on this island. Mind you, they are not new comers to the lake. They spent a great deal of time cleaning up the island while observing a very friendly turtle. The next day they went back to again cook out, etc. The amount of trash on the island was worse than the day before. While they were again cleaning up the island, the father and one of his children discovered the turtle. Someone had driven a spike through his head onto a tree were he died. My intention is not to bring anyone down but to make everyone vigilant of the trash that is not welcome on the lake.

This is very sad. I think we need more people to respect nature on the lake. Live and let live folks, and clean up you mess. Very simple.

Disgusting on all fronts. People never cease to amaze me. People leaving their trash is one reason they continually are moving tailgaters farther from the stadium and off campus at Auburn games. They provide trash receptacles so all one has to do is bring a few trash bags. People are so dam lazy and disrespectful.

Exactly. Not only do they not clean up, but they go out of their way to make a bigger mess of the Lake and everything that surrounds the Lake. The closer you get to the Lake the worse it gets with just about everything that is vertical above the ground having something either stapled or nailed to it. Easy to find the Lake - all signs and more signs point the way.

The only time we have that problen at Sanford Stadium is when we play Auburn.

How would you know what it looks like after the game is over? All the Georgia fans are usually gone by halftime.
