Just curious.....is the whole lake muddy or just the backs of creeks? I remember a few years back that mud and debris were floating down the main river past Pleasure Point. Just curious if it's doing it now.

(Yes, I'm one of those dreaded weekenders but I've been one for 37 years!)

Apparently 37 years does not matter. . .all of us weekenders are POS, rude, morons that are inconsiderate boaters. We are the scum of the lake and "IT" is our fualt. It doesnt matter what "IT" is, just be sure that you understand that "IT" is the fault of the weekenders. It's probably your fault that the lake is muddy or maybe its my fault. . .I dont know, all weekenders should go ahead and take the blame--afterall "IT" is OUR fault. LOL sounds like pi$$ poor reasoning doesnt it? It sounds equally as dumb when lake property owners spew this sort of arrogant rhetoric.

Okay,........... so is the lake muddy or not?

ChrisCraft after spring normally it's just the creeks that muddy up. Some of it reaches the main channel if it the storm is bad enough but it usually settles before then. Mapi you are a true Bammer man. All you do is complain and po-mouth. You need to call Paul Finebaum so you'll be talking to someone who cares.

What about that statement had anything to do with University of Alabama football? I was referring to the constant bad mouthing that weekenders have to endure from lake residents. It is ridiculous. It is a shame that ChrisCraft felt the need to justify his status just because he doesnt own property on the public lake. I hate it that those statements warranted you lashing out at me being an Alabama fan. Grow up already.

Lighten up. I think ChrisCraft said that tongue-in cheek.

Just because you are a weekender does not mean you do not own on the Lake. I wish I were that fortunate.

I know that it was said tongue-in-cheek, but there is still a reason that it was brought up. Regardless. . .i dont see where U of A was at all relavent. I thought that people on this forum were above taking jabs at other posters. . .even when they disagree on something. That was just childish and stupid. No biggie though. . .I wont rebut with any negativity toward AU--I have no reason to. I'd just like property owners to get off their high horse and respect those of us that are just boat owners and lake lovers.

He!!, I guess I am double-scum. I both own at the lake and am also a weekender. I do not deserve to live.

Easy Mapi. It was just a joke. From now on any weekender ( non-property owner ) caught being rude and inconsiderate will have to spend 2 weeks with Phyllis, a weekender ( property owner ) only 1 week. Fulltimers will have to call Paul Finebaum every day and pretend they are BAMMER FANS!!!!!! LOL.

The lake is not muddy.

Runoff can cause it to get murky and serious downpours can make it pretty murky/muddy for a day or two but over all... NOT MUDDY.

FWIW- I'm a full time lake resident/property owner who also works right on the water but hey... it's means jack to me and should to you also! LOL

Litttle Kowaliga is in good shape (a little less clear than normal) but it always fares better with mud than the eastern portion of the lake

You guys are ridiculous. It doesn't matter if you are a weekender, a full-time resident, or someone who has been there only once! It just doesn't matter. Yes there are people out there who have no respect for people's property, but to the other side there are those who do. And I'm happy to say that I think the one's who have respect out number the jerks...if they didn't the lake would be trashed already and no one would be able to swim in it, or boat in it, or even look at it without glowing and puking. Everyone has the responsibility to do what is right....but no one has the responsibility to argue over the stupidest stuff like weekenders or full-timers. If your boat is getting damaged because of wake and you can't stop the boaters...then at some more guards to your dock or pull your boat out, you know it is happening, you can't stop it, so just protect yourself. You know there are idiots out there that won't be stopped. So please find something better to argue about. Because argueing over the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded! (not meant to offend anyone, just for point)

ROSWELLRIC, SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOUR WIFE TOOK AWAY YOUR NOODLE.... THAT'S FUNNY. IT IS GOOD TO SEE THE ARGUMENT ABOUT INCONSIDERATE UNSAFE BOATERS, AND NOT LOAD BOATS. IMAGINE THIS.... THE LAKE IS MUDDY, EVERY BODY IS SKIING AND MAKING BIG WAVES, THE RIVER IS WAY UP AND ALL THE RIVER RATS COME TO THE LAKE ON THE SAME DAY, AND LOUD GO-FAST BOATS ARE HAULIN' BUTT EVERYWHERE. THAT WOULD MAKE THE FORUMS LONGEST THREAD EVER.

The best thing about Lake Martin is how NICE the water is.

Our slough is smooth bottomed and makes for some great swimming. We never get muddy water here. Some leaves and debris after a storm can sometimes line the edge but otherwise, crystal clear, baby!

I just love it when threads go crazy like this. My opinion -- "Full-Timers" should LOVE us weekenders. They only have to tolerate us part time. Otherwise they would have to tolerate us "full-time".

Personally, we have great fulltimers living around our lake home. We are the only part-timer in the immediate area. What's not to like about us? We're only there part time, maintain our property impeccably, are respectful and considerate of our neighbors, yada, yada, yada.

We have had ties to the lake since the early 1960's. Does seniority count?

We are: Fulltime Parttimers

BTW - Water is muddy.

I'm wit ya FP. We are weekenders as well and our immediate neighbors are fulltimers and about as un-arrogant as they come. Just good ole down home country folks. I think us weekenders bring a little excitement into their lives and they seem to love the commotion. What this board needs is a little more love!

P.S.- THE WATER IS INDEED MUDDY.

I'm going stir things up as much as possible between now and the weekend just to pi$$ off all the fulltimers and weekenders. Plus, if we can keep the water looking real ugly perhaps, we can keep them Yankee carpetbaggers from coming down here and sopping up all the good real estate.

Better not worry about U.S. Citizens of North Americans buying it. There is the potential for plenty of South and Central Americans latching onto a good watering hole after a long hot trek across Arizona.

We were at our place today doing yard work. The water looked pretty good from where my lawnmower stopped. A storm blew up, but it seemed to stay over on the Northern side of Kowalgia (sp?) side of the bridge. The wind blew, making our afternoon of mowing, weeding and edging a little nicer. The water was as smooth as butter, making my son get the itch for wakeboarding. Gotta wait till tomorrow for that!
