Blue Creek Marina?

I am beginning to hear rumors that Blue Creek Marina is being bought out by a housing developer and they are going to re-locate to the north end of the lake. The developer is supposedly going to tear down the Marina and build homes there (part of still waters?) Does anyone have any scoop on if this is true or not? If so . . . when is this supposed to close down?
I do know (for a fact) that Parkside Marina (the one across the street from Blue Creek) recently bought the house next to their parking lot for expansion. Don't know if this plays any role or coinsidence to Blue Creek closing down?
I have a lake house very, very, very close to Blue Creek Marina and Parkside (I can almost spit peanut shells into their parking lots from my boat house).
Anyway. . . I was wondering if they do close shop and they build homes in there (not condo's or town home's I hope) if it will cha-ching my property value!

There are signs north of the 49 bridge advertising to south bound traffic "The shops of Blue Creek" or such are coming this summer.

I would suggest before posting a rumor about a major change like Blue Creek selling to a developer, that you call them and ask before posting. What do you think would happen to the value of property in the area if they closed and their property was developed?

I have taken Gone Fishin's advise and called Blue Creek Marina directly. They have very politely informed me that this information is not accurate in any way shape or form.
I am relatively new to the lake (and the forum) and was just trying to get my bearings on what was happening around us. I hope this didn't offend anyone or the Marina. They have been great neighbors to us so far and am happy to hear that they are stayin put !

We are on the East side (small water side) of HWY 49 in the first cove to the right.
We have been there only a short time and are not familiar with where Marina Bay is located? Is that on the Big water side of the bridge or the small water side?
Maybe your a neighbor?

Sounds like we are neighbors. I believe you face the "Island House" yes? (in the condos). I face the Cove as well. Ever make it to Niffers? Maybe I will buy you the famous $1 beer some time if we ever meet up. there. You will have to provide a description though. Do you live over there full time? I think not based on your Alias? or are you an ITP/OTP Atlanta person?
Speaking of which . . . I haven't been on the forum long but have been here long enough to start asking people at niffers if they are ever on the forum0 (Trying to meet some of you all). I remember reading a post from Cat Boat a while back that she hangs out there on the weekends sometimes and is a blond? I have made a fool out of myself asking every blond I see at the bar if they are Cat Boat. They look at me like I have a 3rd eye.
Maybe in the spring when everyone's around we can all hook up at Niffers porch and throw have some laughs? (or does this already happen?)

I think I'm having a really bad day here? Being new to this forum and never meeting any of you isn't helpful. I'm gathering from the last few posts that Cat Boat is not shall we say what I thought?

I don't live at the lake full time. I'm a communter. Just bought the old fuller home back in August (if you know which one that is). As for Niffers, I could use a beer after this post. We'd be happy to meet yall over there some night when It warms up. Just finished building my pier and dock last weekend so I won't be back until I finish building my wife's kitchen cabinets here in the big city. But I do look forward to meeting you all real soon!
I just hope Cat doesn't hold a grudge? I think I owe him a couple of cold ones!

You have waded off in very deep water.... I am a full grown male, 40 years old, and I have never been a woman. I only wish I was at niffers, when you ask a chik if she was CAT. One of us would have gotten thrown out of the bar. Bigfoot was there and was trying to decide if the blonde he saw was the jawjagal on the forum (which by the way it was...) and.....
if it wasn't for Cat, jawjagal and her family would still be stuck at Chimney Rock waiting to get their boat started..he is a god.

I don't know about Blue Creek Marina, but know that Anchor Bay was sold to some developers out of Atlanta (if I remember correctly about them being from Atlanta), but it will continue to operate as a marina. I was also told that Don is no longer there.
