Hey all, I had the day of life last weekend as I celebrated my birthday at the lake. See earlier posts below, I found loving family and warm people in the great state of Alabama and I await my return.. I'm thinking the 4th of july weekend now. Further suggestions on good times with great people would be much appreicated. Thanks again, and see ya, around. Geno

Glad to hear you had a good time and a nice Birthday Geno. Where did you end up staying at the Lake and how was it? It will be helpful to share with others needing the same assistance. Also, what was your expericence like at various restaraunts, night spots and other places of entertainment. What did the others in your party think and like? Did you have any bad experiences to warn us and others about? Come on man, give us a critique of the various places you visited.

Again, nice to hear you had a good experience even with visiting the Lake during the off-season so to speak.

Hey the whiskey helped. No. Not for for me, but perhaps my travelling partners from the north.. True blueblooded yankees that know-not the reserve uniqueness of this gentle region. I was ready for people, they the bar. Both very intoxicating in their own mannor. WOW. As for my stay it was in Alex City at the Holiday Inn Ex. Where I laid my head didn't matter because it was in the clouds what a wonderful place to be. To live, to work, to yes, endulge in a lite libation if I only knew.. I'll be back and I've got more questions, as in where too stay, where to party and so forth. The matter of when will be answered as I return. WOW. Lake Martin remains steadfast on my mind, it's people in my heart. Soon another drink.. A lite libation and dip in the waters. Later.. Make that sooner. Let's keep each other posted!

Do to the ills of my traveling partners, be it a bad back, or breathing problems I found my abrupt stay just that. Not knowing the lay of the land found me at the Holiday Inn Express in Alex City with family near Eclectic some miles away. We did find a local hang out of sorts which all my travelling parties found with ease and apparently easy breathing room in the smoke filled bar on 63, a go dive considering I had stated my desires to jump into the lake which got laughs consider the lake level which of course I knew not of.. Dumb me.. Oh well had a great time and instead of answering your question I really appreciate it if you, yourself could open another line of questioning, per say, or post as locals of know, but finding out where I might stay, party, etc., nearer to Eclectic as oppossed to Alex City this summer let me know.. More importantly I know everything from events at lake to Nascar have great benefits from the 4th of July, given. Too other events at Lake Martin might help in determing when I'll return.. Naugh. Family is what really matters.. My friends are clueless, they might have as well jumped into the mud off the pier. Creeks rise, and god will will find me returning. This summer, per haps sooner. Any advise is much appreicated. Thanks Geno
