Anyone now of a good old fashion armadillo deterrent recipe other than trapping or 12 gauge?

They are tearing up my yard and tired of my Lab chasing them and keeping me up all night.

If not guess, I’ll have to get Lakeman to come over with his pea shooter, for a little pre-PWC target practice.

LOL. Maverick I'm gonna try and find a way to get those possum-on-the-half-shells. Only thing I know right now is a good 22long rifle.

I have some sub-sonic .22 shorts that make very little noise and have little or no over penetration. The three "S"s"
Shoot,
Shovel
Shut-up.

This works for all nuicances. Excellent for protected things.

Season with salt, pepper, lemon pepper, lemon juice, and rub with butter. Wrap in foil and bake at 325 degrees F. for approximately 45 minutes. Remove foil, add more butter and brown. For barbecued armadillo, baste with barbecue sauce over grill after removing foil.

Have the same problem with my home in Opelika. Spot light and pistol in the middle of the night works, but who wants to stay up all night hunting armadillo. So here is something that is proven to work- kill the worms and grubs and the armadillo will not have anything to feed on. I use Ortho granules that kills worms, grubs, snails, ect. I put it out with a broadcast spreader ever 6 wks. It will take a couple of weeks to take effect. It has worked for me. Good luck

if you want but here's a couple of Levitical rules- eat animals that:
1."Chew the cud & part the hoof"
2. "Have Fins and scales"

Some things were meant to be eaten, some not. Hmmmm....I sure miss baby backs....

Treat your yard for grubbs and the dello's will leave at once.

I always keep a roll of toilet paper handy so I can clean them fresh after the kill. It preserves the flavor. Only thing is the tail snaps shut and it's hard to pry open.
