There's a good reason why there's so little activity on the Dive Forum. We did an AM dive on the Rock (6/17) and found three t-clines leading to 50', #3 is cold (very cold - as in "6mm is not enough"). Viz was <6ft in #3 (but worse in #1/#2) and zero in the layers. BTW - 50' was VERY dark, would guess that 60'+ is black.

One of those "been there/done that/not again" missions - unless the price of recycled aluminum skyrockets...

Did you bring a thermometer? I would be interested in how cold it is anywhere in a deep spot.

Next time you go deep, take along a thermometer. Any kind will work. I tried a little steel backed one on a string but I could not get it deep enough.

Have a thermometer on my console - but it was so cold I really didn't care to know... sorry.

We found second thermocline around 50 feet to be 42 degrees F.... After discussion with local divemaster we identified any dep dive in Martin to be a tech dive... (dry suit, limited vis, lots of debris etc.)

Martin offers some interesting sights if you have the certifications...without a dry suit though, there isn't much to see or do...most certainly a tec-dive situation 90% of the time
