I was born in 61 and really enjoyed the video and music. Brought back a lot of memories. One of them that I had totally forgotten about was the fact that we had a Chrysler New Yorker that had the push button transmission. On a different note I noticed that you posted that your son was going to Camp Cosby. Both of our sons went last week and this is their third year. Your son will have a blast. We had a blast with no kids at the lake.

This is my #2 son's second year. He went 4th of July week last year....they told him this week usually has less kids - therefore more attention or able to do the activities more often. He is going back again in late July.

This is why I rent out place some....offset costs like Camp Cosby - which isn't cheap when you especially add the MiniBike and WaterSports themes to the camp cost. Another $150 each to the weekly price.

Did your kids choose a theme? Last year mine didn't. So, we are trying it this year. What ages are your kids? Mine is 12 and will be 13 in October.

Here's our new kicker - we got his physical for camp. He's 5'11". Around 200 lbs. I think he should play football; what do you think? (He's going into 7th grade) He grew 8 inches in 14 months. 2" in the last 2 months.

We, too, were going to the lake as a couple...our oldest is in college and this summer is working and taking classes. But, I rented our condo for a week. So, again, it pays for Camp Cosby. I think it's a great camp. My oldest, when we lived in Georgia, went to High Harbor....another YMCA camp near Rabun Gap and Lake Burton.

Our oldest son is 13 and he did the waterski camp for two years and this year he did the adventure village where they go away for hiking, tubing, etc. My youngest son is 10 and did the general camp. At water ski camp they ski behind Air Nautiques and spend either the morning or afternoon on the water. We are into all sports baseball, football and wrestling and down at the lake almost every weekend in the summer. As for your son playing football, sounds like he would make a good lineman for someone. Take care.

I think the point Flash is making is if you REMEMBER you didn't participate. Think Woodstock. Most of those who remember it, weren' t there.

Well, I guess I'm the oldest youngster around so far......born in '45-yikes- and really enjoyed that flashback Jaw! But, boy didn't they leave out some things.....James Bond movies....and Jerry West as one of the basketball greats....James Brown music.......Otis Redding. Taking you sweet heart to see Sean Connery in a hot '64 GTO was a special treat that is still fun to remember, however,"making the grades in college or else" was not and I eventually got to wear the bell bottoms.....Navy issue! But we survived intact, and years later got the tag from our daughter as being the Beaver Cleaver family. What a life!!

We'll have to meet up around the East Cobb/ Roswell area and compare notes on the "Goats", 442's and other fun cars that you could still work on!

I am envious. I do not even have the dirt scratched yet. The trip went well. I have the builder started and they will shoot the footprint on Monday. We walked the old place several times on Wednesday. I feel comfortable they know what I want to include placing some stakes the way I want the front to face the water. I am sure all the neighbors are going to be happy to see the remains of the old burned cabin removed and new work started. The new place will mesh in with the Lake and typical Southern styling to include wrap around decking with roof overhands. Also have a screened porch.

You must feel good at your stage. I can't wait to get there. Thanks again.

Strange...about the only things I remember from the 60's are things like no city water to the cabin so we had to have a pump drawing water from the lake...my father having to add hose during an unusually low water time so that we would have water(in the winter, at that)...bringing drinking water from home and driving to Eclectic for refills when we ran out...having to turn the outside antenna to change channels(Channel 12 in Montgomery for NBC programs, channels 3 and 9 in Columbus for ABC and CBS, Mt. Cheaha for PBS, and sometimes channel 6 in Birmingham)...getting stuck in the mud on the dirt roads leading to the cabin...walking the shoreline during the winter and nobody cared because everyone knew everyone then...playing in the woods without having to worry about people hunting too near the cabin...the old cabin cruiser that couldn't fit under the main span of the old Kowaliga bridge at 490, and barely fitting through the timber support sections ...eating filler burgers at the Big H in Wetumpka on the way there or coming home...I remember because I was too young to participate
