I do this on another forum and it can be great fun at times. Here is how it works. I will post a line or two from a song and you guys try to figure out what song it is. Whoever KNOWS the artist and song title posts it and then starts over again with lyrics from a new song.

Just to get things going I will give you guys a freebie......

"You can check out any time you like, but you may never leave."

Too easy I know, but it is a start!!!

The Reason by Hoobestank

They played it last year on the Top 40's stations...

OK - and Oldie:

Life's too short to make a mistake
Let's think of each other and hesitate
Young and impatient we may be
There's no need to act foolishly
If we part our hearts won't forget it
Years from now we'll surely regret it

.... Hoobestank..... lol..... Matchbox 20 and Wallflowers are about th only thing from the last 10 years that I can stomach. More clsssic rock man myself. And I don't do 'oldies' either, but that seems to be the most popular genre for this board. That's cool, I will watch and wait patiently for my oppertunity to jump in.

The Sherells would be AFTER Carole King. I believe King wrote this song. Let me go to her musicography (or whatever it is called) site and I'll get back to you.

Tapestry (1971)
- This is a nearly flawless classic, full of fantastic songwriting, recorded with a first-rate band, and lifted by some remarkably emotive performances that bely King's middling technical proficiency as a singer and pianist. There are only one or two weak efforts like the inappropriately chipper "Smackwater Jack," and they're far outnumbered by huge AOR hits like "I Feel The Earth Move," "It's Too Late," "You've Got A Friend," and the title track. And "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?," originally written by King and ex-husband Gerry Goffin for the Shirelles, is a high point not just of the record, but perhaps of the entire soft-rock movement - it features both James Taylor and Joni Mitchell on superb background harmonies. Kortchmar, Larkey, and Adler are also in the mix. (JA)
