Has anyone ever been to this hotel in Nashville? This place is amazing. We were there this past weekend for a event at the convention center. I highly recommend this place. The Grand Ole Opry and the Opry Mills shopping mall are right next door. What a shopping mall!!

The hotel is like a indoor city with palm trees, shops, resturants, water falls, streams with gold fish and a river with a river boat you can ride.

We visited the hotel 2 years ago at Christmas time. You can imagine the decorations for the holiday. I echo your posting and suggest anyone looking for a trip through the most amaazing hotel should visit the Opry Hotel. I am not one who enjoys touring but found the indoor forset and river just awesome!!!!!!!!!! You have to see it to believe it!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been there in years but it is a magical place. Perfect for a special "getaway weekend!" Make sure you get a room with the balcony that opens up to the inside atrium area. Very fun to sit and sip a "sasparilla" and people watch! PS..take the "big wallet" wtih you. nothing at this hotel is cheap but it is a place like none other!

Since they tor down Opryland, I've been back once (and probably won't go again). The hotel is quite grand (I've stayed many times), but with the music experience reduced and the comercial experience greatly expanded, it has become a disappointing trip for me.

The Grand Old Opry today is not what it was intended to be, just can`t get use to all the werdo`s they have on these days, it is not the same kind of music that I grew with. Some are good, but the majority makes Jimmy Rodgers turn over in his grave.

Yes, that is an awesome Hotel and Mall.
Nashville is probably my favorite close getaway. There are a lot of fun things to do there. We saw Boston at the amphitheater there last summer, that was awesome. That is a great place to see a concert. And of course Ryman Auditorium is always great.

I work behind the hotel on Opryland property, so I can't afford parking at the hotel, much less room rental. Stayed there one night, but that....well, it is another story.
Gaylord built a new hotel in Orlando, and have a couple more under construction. It is a good convention hotel with average, but pricey food. Much better dining can be found elsewhere in N'ville. Don't miss Prince's Chicken if you ever come up here. Get the extra hot.
OLH once got a writeup in the Wall Street Journal for having "wonderful funeral home decor." Just shows that bunch doesn't know anything about the south.
BTW, the Cumberland River that borders the hotel property is so polluted you can't eat fish from it. Thank you to the city of Nashville (daily sewage overflow) and DuPont (only the good Lord knows what they let loose).
Gaylord has been talking about building a marina on the river, but they haven't got very far. Due to pollution, the Cumberland isn't very popular, except with barges.
