anyone know when the last time the Lake fell 6" or more short of full pool in May as we did this year? It's hard to make end up not being pretty far down when you start the summer down half a foot.

Last year and the year before....and so on.

It's normal to be 6" below full pool.

After being at the lake for over 40 years I've seen lake down over 6 feet before labor day etc. It all depends on the flooding during the spring
and of course good rain during the summer. We need alot of rain
in the North GA area.

The 6 inch thing has been a pet peeve of mine for years. That 6 inches would have been nice last weekend and the last two months too. Of course I realize it does no good to crow, but it makes me feel better to get it off my chest. And as I have said before, we are the only lake in the Alabama Power system which does not go to full pool, regardless of rainfall. But, I have heard the arguments for the other side and will not argue the point. Many people are happy with it and I can live with it too. Especially the ones that live on the east side of the bridge at Blue Creek. If I lived there, I would feel the same way. Peace to all.

We actually were at Full Pool for a good bit of last summer due to all of the Huricane activity. The water touches our boathouse door when the lake is full and it was like that for much of August last year. But we made up for that this year. It never touched the door this whole summer.

...or so that is here, not groan about the 6" that isn't. We may be the only one that never made 'full pool", but for 80 years we are the only one that has never been out of it banks either. Although 490 is 'full pool', those of us that have been here the longest realize that anything between 489-490 is full. Even in non-drought years, the lake may fluctuate 4-6 inches in any given period.

The glass is half full in my world.

quite a few times in May. In fact, it's more normal than starting out 6" down.

Lake level is better than it was years ago. But I quess we got to remember why the lake was built to begin with.
