Has anyone else noticed that a few boat dealers are taking advantage of the free classifieds on the Lake Martin site? It is my understanding that these classifieds are ment for individuals selling used boats.....am I wrong? I could even understand a dealer with a closeout or special, but to list the entire boat line seems ridiculous.

How hard is it to scroll past them? Why not whine about the ads that sit out there for well over a year too? Or is one of them yours?

Now don't make me pull this car over, young man!

It is interesting in they will show a picture but want mention a price. All they say is negotiable. Its the old Saleman pitch: "How much are you willing to pay for this car or boat?"

I don't have new add up yet and I always take them off after selling an item. I believe that old adds should be automatically deleted unless updated. This is a nice service, but like anything free some will take advantage.

I agree. The Benningyon guy tried it last year but stopped......probably after he learned it hurt sales more than it helped. I won't even look at boats from someone who continues this practice. I guess if they only put up one or two boats with a price, it wouldn't bother me. But as you said, this is just a big sales pitch.

the major player is a paid sponsor of this site, but I still don't like the advertising technique.
