Just got to the Lake this afternoon. It was about as good as it gets or you could ask for in late November.

Really enjoyed the afternoon cruise Sunday. Interresting being the only boat on calm water. Like being on a river.

sure is nice isn't it? Could say a lot more, but I think you've experienced what the rest of us know and want.

I think you are rounding out to be a decent guy; you didn't get on PP's case about disturbing calm water with his larger than average boat.

I'll bet the catboat would have ran good on that calm water.

I had a down moment as I read the latest powerball numbers. Of course I didn't win, but what counts in life, truly is ones riches.. And as sure as I read of on-line strangers struggles with life something brings one back.. This forum.. Naught. The fine folks living at the lake. Make no mistake I shall return. But for all happy hoidays and may the merriest of Christmas seasons be near. Lake Martin!

I will admit, for the 40 or so yards it takes to plane out (I will call this phenomenom bulldozing) the wake is quite large. Once on plane, however it is honestly small. I welcome anyone who would like to take a ride this winter to come see for yourself :-)

Inboard V-drives

From what you had said about takeoff, I thought you might have V-drives. I had the old hull design with 24 degree deadrise in the 30' flybridge (Sport Fish). Had straight drives and boat performed very well with 350s. Same boat was sold with 454 V-drives--they ran great once the boat climbed out of the hole, but she took a while with all that weight in the stern. These 30s were the predecessor to the 33, I believe--11'-6" beam, but w/o prop pockets.
