I saw a wonderful map of Lake Martin showing Indian burial sites and the old towns that were flooded. Do you know where I can find one?

You might want to search around on the url link provided below. Your url link took me to a real estate site in Auburn. Don't think that one will help you. Click below and search around "Alabama Historical Maps";

Thanks for the info, but I have already checked that site and it doesn't have a map like that, or if it does I haven't been able to find it. Sorry about the url, I am a blonde and that is my url :)

Looks like a slick way to advertise real estate on the forum!

Well wareaglechick you are going to love this. The contractors building the " CONDOS " on the old " Stillwaters " property got permission to move an indian burial ground so they could build more condoe. This happened this past spring.

<<Sorry about the url, I am a blonde and that is my url :)>>

I've met blondes that weren't actually idiots. Twice.

Have you considered that many folks actually go out of there way to AVOID firms that can only resort to spam to spread their name?

You are correct rude evin. That is why I revealed it the way I did. I really don't want the legacy of the "Bad Person of the Forum".

I don't like for people to push themselves on me either. I don't want to nor will I be "sold" to. I respect the boundaries and am thankful that the forum is set up the way it is. I have actually gone through the proper channels to advertise and have paid to do so.

Again, it was a mistake, it was my first time posting a message & when I got the the url blank, my url popped up. I did not know what was supposed to go there and when that automatically popped up there I left it there. I am not a computer guru. I simply wanted to know if anyone out there has seen a map similar to what I was looking for & if they had would they be kind enough to let me know where I can purchase one.

Are you so cynical that you can't give someone the benefit of the doubt? I don't want to advertise on the forum, nor was I trying to. I only wanted to buy a map that showed the old Indian burial grounds and the towns that were flooded when the Lake was made, not to be a whipping board.

I am not the enemy. I don't want the lake developed any more than the rest of you. I have a house on a quiet slough and I don't want anyone moving next door to me either. I think it is a shame and disgrace that they moved the remains from the Indian burial ground to make room to build more condos. There are too many condos being built and I don't want the lake to become commercialized and crowded.

We bought a ratty house close to Pleasure Point and totally renovated it. It is a dream come true for us. I got so tired of all the contractors thinking we were going to flip the house. Money is not everything. The joy my family got from our lake house is not for sale. The memories we made and hope to make for decades to come are what life is about.

On New Year's Eve my family (brother, sister, neices & nephews) had a bonfire down on our beach, shot fireworks, listened to some great tunes & had a wonderful time. I think that will always be a special memory & that is just one of the things I love about having a place at the lake.

If any you are close to Pleasure Point I would welcome you to come by our little piece of paradise and get a cold drink or just say hello.
