NCSue, Can you provide any details as to exactly what you are looking for? I build furniture and bookshelves. I just recently built our kitchen cabinets and do like to pick up the occasionaly side job. If you have pictures or a website on what style bookshelves you are looking for I would be interested in talking to you. You can email me if you like.

Wish now I had thought about going the contractor route! Being just about 80% complete on my bath closet shelves ( four baths), computer/ fax/ printer work area shelves and a bookcase shelf project downstairs.............this is making my already white hair turn silver! What am I complaining about..........this is retirement!!!! But good luck on your search.....I don't have any references for you though.

For your book shelves, Check out Fred's Cabinet Shop on 49 as you head to Horeshoe Bend from 280.

Refinishing: If it is old or antique you may want to do it yourself using shellac flakes. You mix the shellac flakes with denatured alcohol and pad it on with pads made of colton clocth with three or four cotton balls inside secured by a rubber band. It is so simple, and the results are beautiful I use this process on antique clock case specifically rosewood, mahogany, walnut and etc. You can buy the type (orange shellac (dark woods) or blonde shellac (light woods),, of shellac flakes from places like VanDyke Restorers and other places. Perform an internet search for shellac flakes. It was the method of shellacing antiques hundreds of years ago. The results are beautiful. Email if you want the exact process.
