We have just moved here full time and I wondered if any of you could suggest a Baptist chuch around here?

I don't know where you are located, but there is one on the corner of Hwy 40 and Bay Pine Drive up on the northeast end of the lake.

Lake Martin Baptist Church is out Hwy 34 in Dadeville. Our former neighbor is a minister there.

Good luck!

Do you want your feet washed on Sunday?

I am not sure what you mean.

Just a little joke. There are some denominations that have a tradition of washing feet.

Rosewellric is a member of the sect that brings snakes to church. He took me to his nice little church one Sunday. In a rush to get out of the place, I tripped over the baptismal tub and formed a new back door to the quaint little house of worship

I had hoped you had forgotten that incident. Let's go again...it's my turn to bring the snakes.

Since the last time brother Clem got bitten I started teaching my snakes that we were believers and they were not supposed to bite. You'll be safe this time I promise.

Hmmmm... wonder if Bro Clem had been up to something.......

And Feb, I'm not washing your feet!

Thanks for the warning guys! That is so funny....

I grew up in a traditional Baptist church with hymns but the last few years have gone to a Baptist church with praise music. I was realy wanting to find a nice mix. Go figure...I want it all.

I do have an 18 year old son and I am an aunt to teenage girls and boys, so I wanted to find a church they would enjoy going to when they are up for the weekend. If I wanted them to go back, I would have to pass on the snakes, though. Although my nephew might be intrigued and the church might be missing a snake when church was over!

I live near Pleasure Point, so Lake Martin Baptist is really close. The First Baptist Church of Dadeville is not far from me either and I wonder if any of you have any opinion of that church that you wouldn't mind sharing.

as long as I don't have to hold your snake or your dock.

What is praise music?
Also, lets remember that all those steeples point in the same direction.

Praise music is the more contemporary spin on Christian Music. Some of it is "new stuff" by newer artists and others is traditional hymns with a little more upbeat rhythm.(instead of just a piano or organ in the Church you might have electic keyboards, drums, guitars etc... there is a big range from Church to Church as to just how "rock n roll" it gets) Usually instead of being sung out of hymnals it is presented on a big screen. You might have a tiny bit more swaying and a hand or two raised in the crowd. The younger generation loves it as it is generally a more relaxed Worship atmosphere. Our Church in Bham is all "praise music" On a given Sunday morning, if I go by Starbucks and then get my "fix" of praise music I'm left "feeling good!" LOL
Like you said, it's all about worshiping HIM and how different groups choose to do it is a matter of preference :) Hope that explains "praise music a bit ?"
