How are the condos selling on the lake? We are going to have a ton more people on the lake this summer...so much for skiing or wakeboarding on the weekends!

Just because more people at the lake does not mean more on the lake.

I've been on the the lake since 1964 does not seem anymore up in the slough (skiing etc.)on big weekend than back in the 70's 80's.

BOTH!.....have you lost your mind? do you want the lake so crowded you can't enjoy time on the lake on the weekend without worrying about all the newbies that DON"T know how to drive boats, drink way too much...and are just plain rude and ignorant to normal lake rules!

We were all new to the lake one time or another. Give the (Newbies) the same consideration you recieved when you didn't know what you were doing. Correct them when you can and by all means, Don't scream obsenities at them. You may need a tow one day!!!

Of course, one solution to the weekend traffic is to hasten the aging process.....get to the Old F@rt station like some of the rest of us, retire and then enjoy the weekdays to your hearts content!!

My May through August strategy for the last few years has been to work Friday-Monday and spend Tuesday-Thursday on the lake.

I was right. Mean, stuck-up, and self-centered!

I have been visiting Lake Martin since 1953. My first boat was a 13 foot Chris Craft with a Johnson 10. I am an experienced offshore sailor. I have been a powerboater for more than 50 years. You don't know squat about boats compared to me. It is convenient for me to have a condo on the lake because I don't have time to fool with a house. I have condos in Marbella, Key West, Aspen, and Bar Harbor, and nowhere other than Lake Martin have I felt unwelcome.

In fact, as I commented a year ago, there are few people on the lake, long or short time, who know how to cleat a line or who know that real boaters pull their fenders (bumpers) off the gunnels when underway.
