Hi Folks. I'm glad I found this message board! The family and I will be renting a lakehouse on Martin this weekend and I am wondering about the water level. From some of the pictures, it looks like the level is way down and I've got kids who'll want to jump in (cold or not). Any information would be welcome!
Thanks!

Level is 3+ feet below normal for this time of year. See link.

Safety of jumping in will depend on where you are.

The lake is definately low at this point. We are all certain that it will rise to it's full height in the next 5 weeks.

As for your kids jumping in the water . . . they might have to walk down the shoreline a bit in order to be able to get to it. It just depends on the slope of your shoreline.

Hey Lakefun . . . is this new user name an infingement on your long standing forum name? See LMPBA rules and regulations chapter 3, section 12 or you may want to discuss this with LM current president CatBoat. He will provide the guidelines and the punishment for such an infringement. I think the current punishment for this type of infringement is is that they have to come and pressure wash our sea walls or wash and wax our boat. CatBoat will have the details!

Well stated Pikeski. I'll send Lakefun right on over to your place to do your sea walls.

I would bet that less water means that it heats up faster...?

you just have to walk a few extra feet to get there. I dangled my feet off the dock today, and it's still COLD. No swimming for me, but the kids say they want to wakeboard next week.

..neighbor was dragging his children around on a tube yesterday in our slough......extremely dangerous considering the low water and stumps/rocks just beneath the surface.....
