I can no longer read all the comments on this issue and not comment as well, This is not just a current problem. Its not a five year old problem. Its a decade or more old problem. Past ADEM inspections have continuously found major and minor problems on a recurring basis. Unliscensed, untrained operators; overdue or no maintenance on equipment; unkept or outdated records; etc.;etc.;etc.. The current issues are just a result of age old neglect and problems which remained open for years. I'm sure that the city fathers of Dadeville would like to have the money to just go out and fix this long standing problem. I'm also pretty sure that they don't have the money at this point. The real issue is they have to get it fixed or continue to be fined and face further legal action by the state. They have no choice. Get it fixed! Many may not know but there is at least one privately operated disposal plant that discharges directly into lake Martin near Castaway. Several years ago they faced similiar problems. Through strong leadership, they raised their rates, repaired their equipment and got in compliance. Dadeville needs to do the same. Its not about us and them. Its not about lakers and locals. Its about doing whats right and obeying the law!

Rob thanks for your reply. I think you hit the nail on the head. I am just not sure why someone can read that report and not see this has been a problem for years and needs to be addressed.
