Lake Level seems to be taking a big hit of late. It's down 3 inches the past 3 days. I wonder why all the sudden the rate is escalating. Is this due to the COE requirements or have we hit some plateu with this drought?

Just not sure why after the lack held it's own for 3 weeks or so why all the sudden it's down 3 inches in 3 days. I suppose it's due to additional downstream water requirments that have kicked in.

you're correct. They took Logan Martin done about 1 1/2 feet over the past two weeks and now it's our turn.

that it seems to be dropping this fast. While some rain would be great, it appears that even normal type rains will only slightly slow the downward curve at this point. If the current trend continues, we'll lose half a foot a week. That's consistent with the published reports.

I'm just going to enjoy this weekend as much as I can.

The drop in the lake level may have to do with the downstream requirements associated with navigation and environmental requirements.

Also may be generating hydro power, but not sure.

I am sure that is why APCO released the press release a few weeks back regarding the 2 foot drop by mid June.

but it's just one of those things we must live with. I've really been looking forward to summer on the lake and this just "dampens" things a good bit...no pun intended.

That the lake will be down to at least 483 by June 15th if there isn't signficant rain before then. If that is the case, I believe our boat will be on land.

I'll try to post the link, not good with that.

wonder how many of the boat ramps will be unusable at that level?

At the town of Union boat ramp off of Hwy 50W and Centerport Road Alabama Power has already staged many sections of additional walkway to the floating dock there. Not yet installed but ready to go when the additions are needed. In fact there are so many sections spotted in the ramp area that there may be enough for other APCo boat ramps on the south end of the lake.
