I was checking with the Lake Forums to see if anyone has any information on Trout on YATES LAKE. I caught a Speckled Trout near Soughahatchie Creek on YATES LAKE and was checking to see if anyone knew if the Lake had ever been stocked. The Lake is freezing cold year around and it does make sense.

trout can live in the warmer monthes in the sipsey because smith lake is so deep and the tail race is colder...year round. that is the key. we could stock trout below martin dam but the tail race dwindles to nothing in the summer and the water gets too warm for trout.
