It rained here for several hours last night. A good hard soaking rain at times with wonderful showers in between the downpours. Today has been filled with several different rain showers also, some while the sun was shining. Not near enough rain to affect the lake levels, but it is a welcome relief for grass and landscaping. Long range forecast on weather.com is thunderstorms every day for the next week. Lets hope it comes to fruition.

We are getting good rain here at the shop (Prattville). Welcome sight no doubt.

I will not miss this opportunity (in our new spirit of mutual respect) to join my friend LTL on thanking the good Lord for this rain. Actually according to this site the levels did go from 481.6 to 481.7...I know...I know it probably wont last but its the first time it reversed course in a very long time...keep me posted LTL I had to head back yesterday...

Yep...I guess it would be at 481.5 without the rain huh? I had a great weekend but i can honestly say I have never seen less people on the lake for the 4th than this year.

Also, I got a letter from Blue Creek telling me I get the pleasure of paying a $50 surcharge per weekend if I wish to retrieve and retun my boat from this point forward. Kinda like kicking you when your down. Anybody else getting similar letters from other marinas...

I agree about less folks than I can ever remember for the 4th. I hate it for the small marinas. It may be the knock out punch for one of them in particular. I will hate it if that happens.

As for the 50 surcharge, that seems extremely high. For that matter I would think that your contract for storage would preclude that charge. Were you not told when you stored that it included 'launching' your boat as often as you wish? When I used dry storage that was the deal then. You can't change the terms of a contract without both parties agreeing to it, but that is my Judge Judy law degree speaking. May be worth looking into though.
