After reading all the posts about the lake level, I thought it would be a good idea for us to get really creative and .... once and for all.... get down to the REAL REASONS that the lake is so low. I welcome all input. Let's get to the truth.
1) APCO and RL have sold all the prime lots and are now in the process of exposing new land that will be up for sale next season. If you used to have a lakefront cabin, you will now be part of a subdivision with lake access.
2) The dam is leaking. They just don't want to admit it.
3) It has something to do with a business deal that Schrushy made. He sold the water to Arizona. No kidding. They are trucking it away at night.
4) The lake level is not lower. They are raising the level of the shoreline. There may be a volcano under here somewhere. Hasn't the ground seemed awful warm to you?

APCO decided to make the lake smaller so the big, loud, fast boats would seem even bigger.
Thomas Martin has been declared persona no gratta so therefore this lake, that was his brainchild, has to be done away with.
Scrushy ordered the lake drawn down as long as he is in prison and can't enjoy it, NOBODY WILL.
John Edwards ordered it drained as part of his 'two America's' campaign. He stated this was a good start in equalizing the citizens of the area, to make the haves more like the have nots.

5) the "no big boats rule" is the reason. Once all those boats came out of the water, the level of the lake dropped. Good news: The US Navy has decided to station the USS Nimitz off Kowliga later this year. It's hull displacement is expected to bring us back to full pool, and the water patrol will not be needed north of the Kowliga Bridge as the Nimitz will assume security operations for the area. I kid you not.

The real reason is Coach God..I mean Saban.....APCO had some concerns that he might not be able to walk on water in East Alabama and figured they might better help him out a tad.........

The lake is not lower. We are are all older, crankier and more senile and we don't even know where the lake is.
