Good evening. I read of the Parrotts' tribute show to Jimmy Buffett and not-knowing whether their weir Parrotheads near ML and how Buffett may have influenced your lake life. Perhaps not. What I submit now is a post being made as I have yet to get tickets for Buffett's show here in CINCINNATI.. And yet having read-all-so-briefly wonder what or make how well received parrotheads' are welcomed at the lake. Just asking.

One of Lake Martin's biggest Parrothead here. I've never been to Cincinnati for a show but have been to Columbus and Cleveland Ohio for shows. Also Atlanta more time than I can remember. Was in Boston last year and caught a show there. Right now I think I have attended approx. 15 shows throughout my life (I'm 46).
A lot of my lake life centers around Buffett. With my last name being Moore, I actually named my lake house Mooregaritaville. One of my clocks is always on 5. And of course, margarita's and Landshark Lager is the drink of choice.
Good luck with tickets to the Cincinnati show. I would love to be there with you.

Buffett and Harrah's Casino have teamed up to build Margaritaville Casino in Biloxi. The $1B complex will replace the destroyed Grand Casino. Buffett was born in Pascagoula, MS and raised in Mobile--which I'm sure all you Parrotheads know.

has a very cool restaurant in Gulf Shores - used to be on 98 between Foley and Fairhope, and looked like an old fishing camp eatery. She now has a more upscale place right on 59 at the bridge going into Gulf Shores. If I were more internet literate, I could post a URL, but if you wanna know about it - Google LuLu's Gulf Shores AL....

I've seeh Buffet and the Coral Reefer Band twice, I believe both times were at the Amphitheater in Birmingham, he always puts on a great show. Look forward to seeing the tribute band in a couple of weeks at Kowliga. Should be fun.

I plan to be in Biloxi for the grand opening (2010), hopefully.
Also, to add to your history listen. Buffett went to Auburn. This is where he started playing the guitar. He said his roommate played the guitar and got all the girls. He thought if he started playing it would help him with the girls. After a few quarters at Auburn, he left and went to LSU. He soon flunked out because he was spending so much time in New Orleans. Later he did get his degree from Southern Miss.
