Carlos Mexican Grill (on Wheeler Street), Jim Bobs, & Cecils.

The Shadow Brook (I think was the name) closed.

Not a lot of choices.

There are no good restaurants in the Alex City area. The only good restaurant on lake Martin is the dinning room at Willow Point.

The nearest good restaurant is the Yellow Hammer East on 280 to Waverly. About 15 miles from the river bridge.

No other "fine dining" in the area.

How about Home Plate Cafe in Dadeville? Great food and a full service bar if you're in to that. Their lunch during the week is the best with Rosie doing the cookin'.

Best lunch in Alex City is Momma Ella's.

And Mav, Bob's aint what it used to be. Gone downhill since the new owners took over a while back. Sat 5 minutes one day and watched folks all around us go about their business, nobody even spoke to us, so we left. In the old days I would have had breakfast in that length of time.

Homeplate is really pretty dang good. The "meat & 2" is outstanding. I hear the dinners are good too. Not a fine restaurant but neither are the prices.

What's up with the chicken place? I can't figure out when it's open.

I wish the Cove had lived up to it's billing but it really needs to figure out what it is and who it wants to attract. Rent Sea-Doos with your lunch????? Huh?

Not much. Cecils & Greenfields in Alex City. I hear the mexican place is pretty decent. My usual pick is Cecils.

Old South BBQ is not as good as it used to be but the Fried Chicken and the whole Catfish squealers are still real good. On 170 about 1 mile past the 63 Y.
