Sagetek, we are all concerned about the Lake Levels. If you are a HOBO you have received a couple of emails asking for your help in contacting officials. Please help us.

his true fellings. CAT's boat is an 'offshore' boat. Hmmm, some of us might consider all those boats in wet slips to be offshore boats. It is not anyone's fault but their own that they don't have trailers for them. OF better yet, maybe THEY should have been put in the gulf to begin with, where they belong, and where there is no drought!!!!!

ALL STAKEHOLDERS HUH!!

Meanwhile, I plan to take my larger boat to the Gulf in two short weeks. However, I was speaking of my other boat, 16' Donzi (which is also on a trailer) is my boat of choice for the River. But, if I decide differently I will take my pontoon boat. With all due respect, please don't start this with me OSMS.

I do hope they find a solution to the Alex City, Dadeville water problem. That would be terrible to see them completely run out of water. Sometimes the things that we take for granted, matter the most. And that applies to all of us.

We are talking about a paid service which is authorized by Alabama Power and which makes Russell ALOT of money each year. (wet slips) This is not a discussion about whether or not we will lose use of our boats (recreational activity), its about how much damage will be done to them. Not that it matters too much because we all should be insured. But guess what, when large events happen they raise the premiums across the board, so I guess you will also get to help pay for it....

In case you missed somthing, the "complaints" you are poking fun of were not initiated, but a simple reply to a question. I didn't start the string.

I have no problem with your, or anybody else's, boat. I was illustrating absurdity by being absurd. It is the HOBO's that have a problem with you and your friends boats, not me. OSMS took it upon himself to tell CAT that he should go to the coast to launch his boat. The HOBO's are using you guys, with potential catastrophic events looming, to further THEIR agenda. When it is convenient to them, like now, they use you guys as rationale for keeping more water while at the same time working behind the scenes to keep ANY more of you from enjoying the lake,

It boils down to simple selfishness. The HOBO leadership has shown over and over that ALL they care about are themselves.
NOT YOU, or any of your friends.
NOT anybody downstream that may need to float their boat.
NOT anybody else downstream that may need the water to operate their industry.
NOT anybody else that depends on the river for their DRINKING WATER.

APPARENTLY HOBO'S, OR SHOULD I SAY OSMS, WILL NOT BE HAPPY UNTIL NO WATER FLOWS OUT OF LAKE MARTIN.

You see, I have been listening to everyone complain about "Big Boats" for over a year now. I am so tired of hearing the lies. Everyone on this site has an agenda, and the biggest agenda out there hasn't yet surfaced. Its the home owners who lost money this year because no one wanted to pay thousands a week to rent a home with a dock high and dry. My guess is that most of these poeple permanently reside a little east of the Alabama State line, so the "water war" is a double edge sword for them.

I have seen money manipulate our government in ways I thought was not possible. Take my word for it, if this legislation stands you will lose more of your rights as users of Lake Martin! Expect legislation on Jet Skis and probably wakeboard/ski boats next.

Your condos will sell (or should I say rent) whenever tha water comes up, so don't worry so much. Put off retirement for another year. Its a small price to pay for a natural disaster of this magnitute.

The suggestion that you can "permitt" boats for lake use will only allow these home owners to have their boats on the lake (and offered for high rent) while others will not ba allowed on the lake. Yes, this is what is next. Look for legislation "permitting" use on Lake Martin. It has been stated that it would be easier to permit, rather than to decipher who is legal and who is not. Guess that means those of you who trailer in will be S.O.L.

All I hear about big boats is that "we" are the loud obnoxious people who praty at the rock. Let me tell you something, your kids with the $60k wakeboard boats, and your pontoons are putting away alot more cold ones than we are, and you say we are the dangerous ones? Do you know where they hide their beer bongs? OH WAIT, they just use your noodles for that... The lake is not safer today than it was before this legislation.

And for "erosion" or other property damage due to wake, please, the next time is storms go stand by your sea wall and tell me how much energy is absorbed diring one hour if 20 mph wind vs a full day of weekend boating.

Everyone who owns a boat is a liability to the ecology of the lake. There is no thing as an environmentally conscious boater (unless yours is a canoe or other row boat), so get off your high horse.

Lake Martin will be the next Lanier with Big Boats or not. There is no way around it. Just be prepared for the legislation..............

A lot of good points in that post. But you can rest assured that if the legislation stands, somebody with deeper pockets will come along have NEW legislation passed that WILL create more loopholes than a fishing net.

But don't you feel better knowing the HOBO's are using you and your friends to try and further their agenda, but fight you in court. And osms, let his true feelings come through when he told CAT to take his boat to the coast. Maybe we should start an antiHOBO group. There seems to be a few of us around. The biggest difference is that we would be honest with our agenda and not use folks when it is conveineint and then toss them aside once we are done with them.

Any group that fears ONE LONE VOICE must have a LOT to hide. Exposure seems to cause them to whine and cry. I figure Maverick is the only board member NOT with me on iggy. Somebody has to keep an eye on me....LMAO.
