Bull Doziers and backhows will solve the problem.
The water has finnally receeded to the point of where there is only 4 feet at my dock.
I am digging out a cannal 20 feet wide and 10 feet deep up to 3 feet from my sea wall. Then I will dig about five spokes to the lake and flood the whole thing.
At that point I will move my dock, it floats, to the area where the canal is. I will be good until the lake goes down 30 feet.
I am considering building a manmade island with the dirt and building a bridge to it. I will then sell lots on that island for 1 million dollar apiece.
I started this on Sunday and the power company guys came by three times already, they have not said anything yet, at least anything that I could hear above the droan of the bull dozier

you have a PERMIT. Putting it back like it was is a LOT more expensive. Just ask the guys that did Manoy Cove phase II. It cost them about 3 times as much to put it back and pack it than

They decided to deepen one of the sloughs without a permit. When the local shoreline inspector saw what they had done, he called his boss. When he saw it he called the B'ham office and they in turned called the Corps. They were forced to return it to its 'natural' state at a cost of about 250K. Thing is, they would have been granted the permit had they simply applied for it. They chose not too. Costly mistake. HOTROD may find out the same thing soon. If they came and looked three times, they are interested in what is going on. When I got my dredging permit, they NEVER came back to see anything. That is in fact when heard this story. It was told to me by the shoreline inspector himself.

Absolutely! I thought the original message was a joke. Shoreline permits are one area where it is NOT best to act now and ask forgiveness later.

Interesting. What sort of dredging do they generally allow? I'd like to restore my corner of the lake to the depth it was before some dirt and gravel was washed into it.

Generally if you increase the storage capacity of the lake they will approve. Means you will have to remove the material from the lake bed. When you build a seawall, you are required to take the backfill from the lake bed.
