Did anybody ever order this service and if so how is it working? I just cancelled my phone service (service is questionable term for what you get these days). I am thinking of giving Majic Jack a try and just wondered how it worked out. If I recall a couple of you guys ordered it.

Yes and it cost $40 including first year and $20/yr after that.

I have one and it seems to work well. The downside is you have to have your computer on all the time and you cannot get a local number. They say beginning Nov 15th you can get a 334 area code number. Keep in mind they are a small starup company and they might not make that date. But the service seems reliable even if I do have a Nashville telephone number.

Thanks. I leave my puter on all the time anyway unless I am traveling, but from what I have read I can take it with me if I chose. Cant imagine why though. Phones are everywhere. More than 90% of my calls are from out of state and/or from cell phones so I don't see it will make much difference about the number. I am going to order one.

You will like it. It's sorta like a Yahoo web address. You can give it out where you would not give your regular number. And yes, you can take it where ever you go.

From what I remember, 'Roswellric' was the one who orginally talked about Majic Jac here on the Forum. Try to contact him...He stated that he bought one and was using it.
