taken soil samples to see what toxins (heavy metals, chemicals, etc.) are in the soil at the new lakeside?
The picture with the kid stuck in the mud has a certain orange tint to it that doesn't look too appealing. Just curious if there should be any warnings about walking in it and/or stirring up bad stuff....

I never wore a seat belt in my life. Never wore a helmet when I rode a bycycle, ate fatback when I was growing up. I`am sure this kid in red mud an`t got no problums. Get a life .

I know you were serious, but I had a good laugh after reading your post. We have been teasing Chris for years that he has brain damage when he does that kind of stuff (which is often); could it be true because of lake toxins? Actually, the red is the erosion of red clay from near my boat ramp caused by the low water. I have it fixed now, so no need to worry.
.....although, if my fix doesn't work, I may need to remove those large barrels marked "Bio-hazard" (just kidding)

I don't know about toxins, but I can tell you there are sink holes. I stepped in one while exploring the shore line a few days ago. One leg sunk all the way to my waist, the other only about to my knee thanks to the quick action of my oldest daughter. I feel sure this was a stump hole from a very large tree. So be careful when you are walking/exploring the shore line

I know exactly what you are talking about, Lakerlady.....same thing happened to me last year near shoreline...sank to my waist with cell phone in my pocket...cell phone was drenched and doesn't work all that good now......actually does work after the ole hair dryer treatment......sinking like that is scary......

I didn't have my cell phone on me, but had my daughters. However it wasn't damaged, thank goodness. The suction from the mud was unreal. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get the leg out with my shoe still on. Had I been alone, I would probably still be there. But at least the view was beautiful. There was no fewer than 10 sail boats out that day...even stuck in the mud at the lake is better than a day not at the lake.

Bigfoot on future walks take a spray can of paint and mark the areas you want to miss. secure your phone sholder high. The hair dryer does work well with wet phones. How's Grady doing? I haven't seen him for a while.

Sounds crazy but it works on wet cell phones!!!
Place all parts( other than SIM card) in a bowl of white rice over night :-)

yeah I quit taking my cell phone near the water...pretty easy to do right now.....Grady is doing fairly well right now considering the second round of bypass surgeries he had a few months ago..he stays busy always on the go...does way too much volunteer work...thanks for asking Lakeman.
