Year round lake resident with a problem. With water level so low I have discovered a refrigerator and fishing boat in front of my property. My fear is that during summer months someone could get injured by diving into these areas and encountering this debris.
I took pictures and went to local AL Power office to see if someone could help me remove and dispose of the debris. They could not help or offer any suggestion.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I would help remove myself and could possibly get one other helper as well.

When I began reading you post I thought you were going to say that APCo told you it was habitat and you must leave it. :-)

APCo recently advised us to call the Marine Police and they would investigate--let us know what happens.

Thanks for the quick reply! I live on Lakewood Drive off Turner Road. I rhink we could get a backhoe close enough to get the debris.

LIVE ON LAKEWOOD DRIVE OFF TURNER RD. I THINK A BACKHOE COULD GET BOTH FRIDGE AND FISHING BOAT.

Sorry, I can't help but I just wanted to say that I hope this isn't indicative of what's in the rest of the lake. A whole boat and a fridge too? Wow. I could see that if we were talking about coastal AL waters but not Lake Martin!

The receding water exposed a piledriving barge in front of my house. I called the marine police.

I will be moving a backhoe of the lake in Jan or Feb. If the stuff is still there then we will come and get it out of your way.

I've discovered stumps that I didn't know existed. I've seen water heaters, matress springs, furniture and various other junk on the lake bed.
