I watched the weather radar off and on today and we are cursed. Its like there's a magical boundary west north and south of the basin and the rain swirls around it.

Very strange, isn't it? Heavy rain was approaching but once it got past a line from Montgomery to Birmingham it suddenly became a light rain. I've seen the same pattern repeat itself over and over the last six months. Seems clear to me that there are atmospheric forces at play here that the weather gurus do not yet understand.

Shows precip and the current one is uncanny but if you go back 7 days, 14 days, etc. the pattern is exactly the same. When the precipitation gets to I-65 it just disappears. Very weird.
