A large number of properties have dropped off the MLS site since December. Only 418 are now listed, down from 485 just a month ago, and 553 in early September.

Anybody know the story on number 08-22? 12 acres with 900' of water in Stillwaters that looks like a condo site someone is giving up on.

Can't find the listing you are talking about, but it sounds like the site in Sunset Point across from Stoneview Summit. If that is it, I heard the market turned down before they could start construction, although they did clear cut the property.

Remember - when you're counting waterfront listings - some properties may be on other lakes. For example, there are some listings on Yates Lakes and Lake Tallassee included in your count of 418. And, this number also includes those places that are under contract.

Toni's right. Some of that number does include waterfront that is not Lake Martin. It is even possible to have something labeled as waterfront when it is on a private pond / lake. But practically speaking most are on Martin. The original observation is true, though, many listing agreements end on 12-31.

Yes, 12 are on other lakes. And 24 were marked as "pending", for a net of 382 actually available.
