Thanks for the info. It looks like good news on the surface; just hope it doesn't encourage Atlanta to build a reservoir upstream of Lake Harris.

The immediate past Speaker of the House was from Bremen...........the current Speaker is from Paulding Co................same general area as the aforementioned planned lake..............just so you know.

It may be not good nuz for the us downstreamers in the ACT basin. It's more likely now that Atlanta's demands on Alatoona and Carters and other reservoirs on the drawing board in the GA portion of the basin will grow to offset some of the resulting Lanier shortfall. It will be very interesting to see the impact on the ongoing negotiations between Riley and Purdue for this basin scheduled to end up within the next two weeks.

I think we need to be optomistic. From everything I can gather, the ruling is extremely positive for Alabama and should strengthen our negotiation position since the judge has basically confirmed that GA cannot manage federal reservoir waters willy nilly without downstream consideration.

John, I agree with the conventional wisdom on the intended consequences of the ruling, but my concern expressed above is with the 'ensuing' unintended consequences.
