Has there been a change in the target winter low levels . I thought that I read about a revision from 480 to 483. Has it been changed or am I just wishing?

The target was raised 3 feet this year because of the drought. It is only temporary, but could be continued in future years if needed. We still need rain! As the posts below suggest, we are in reasonable shape for this time of year. I agree with LTL that the lake will come up fast if we get anywhere close to normal rainfall for the next 2 months.

What about Wedowee??????

From the thread below, one major point everyone is not counting in the equation is that in years past, Lake Wedowee has not plugged their lake until May 1. In the past (not counting last year of course) they have filled Lake Martin before plugging Wedowee. Hope they let us have some this year, but my fear is they will not. If that is the case, then the outlook is not as optimistic. With Alabama Power courting the Reynolds Plantation group, you never know what might happen.

With Wedowee almost 2 feet above winter pool now, I take that as a good sign for us.....time will tell.

Actually Lake Wedowee's (aka R. L. Harris reservoir) longstanding operational guide curve starts seasonal 'filling' on 1 Apr. With this years winter pool drought driven variance for a 2 foot higher winter pool at Wedowee, they have been 'filling' earlier and have reached the variance level. As mentioned in earlier threads, generation releases have been made from Wedowee over the past week.
