1. The Blue Creek Marina was sold....company that bought it is out of Atlanta...word is that they bought Anchor Bay too...is this correct?

2. Word is they bought another marina north end of lake...correct?

3. What are the plans for Anchor Bay this summer..store going to open? Boat ramp going to be open? Service Dept going to be in business?

4. Is the restaurant (Suzie Q's) going to open this year...I read on here that Suzie might not be there but will someone else take a stab at it? Sure miss the old Anchor Bay Bar/restaurant.

Any info would be appreciated as Anchor Bay is "my neck of the woods".

Vinings Marine Group purchased both, Anchor Bay and Blue Creek according to their website. The links to Anchor Bay show Suzy Q's as an operational part of Vinings Marine Group.

I never knew that:
Lake Martin was created in the 1920's when the Tennessee Valley Authority built Martin Lake dam.

I thought that TVA was not established until about 1933 or 34?

We bought a boat last year from Blue Creek and we got a letter from our salesman yesterday letting us know that they no longer would be at Anchor Bay (he knew that was our side of the lake) but they would have some service people who will make service calls if needed.

What's funny is we are docked at Anchor Bay and still get confused by this whole mess. The poster above is right... Vinings Marine owns both Anchor Bay and Blue Creek, however certain aspects were previously rented out. I assume and this is a big assumption, that when they said "Blue Creek" is who was running Anchor Bay last year, that was just to keep anyone from complainng to the actual owners... Vinings.

Parker Creek Marina was owned by the Blue Creek folks too. Was it sold?

I do not know about Anchor Bay but only the storage was sold at Blue Creek. The Singleton family still owns the marina.

Anchor Bay was sold to Vinings Marine Group in 2006. Vinings leased the sales & service of Anchor Bay to Blue creek early in 2007. Vinings leased out the old Dockside restaurant to Suzie in 2007.

Vinings purchased Blue Creek Marina (but not Parker Creek) in 2007 and leased back the Sales and Service at BC to Singleton Marine Group.

This year, Vinings has resumed operation of Anchor Bay and has the same technicians and store manager who have been there since 1999. The store is currently being restocked and will be wide open shortly. I understand that Suzie Q's is due to open any weekend now.

That's the story and I'm sticking to it!
