Need a truck load on the lake for my driveway. Can anyone recommend a source and a trucker? Any idea what the per ton price might be?

Thanks

Give Adam Patterson a call at 256-596-2446. He has done my drive and a couple of our neighbors. He will be there when he says he will and his pricing is very fair. I've had him do several landscapping jobs for me in the past two years. He's a fine young man that does great work.

Just do expect an increase in price since the last time. I am in the commercial paving business in Birmingham and stone as well as asphalt prices have increased 4 times this year with no end in sight it seems.

He's on the Dadeville side of the lake; however, according to my conversations with Adam, he does work all around the lake.

Building is down. Most raw materilas are dropping. The dam in China is winding down. Why is rock up?

I do not understand it myself. Vulcan Materials keeps raising their prices and other companies are following suit. Atlanta has a lot of construction and they are making money over there. I guess they want to see the same results here. It's called inflation!

Vulcan Materials must not have any competion. I bet the big guys are paying a lot less and the little guy is getting screwed.

Think it is all the same. It is crushed rock that compacts well when driven upon. Makes a good driveway generally resistant to erosion.

Thanks for Adam's number...have been in contact.

Price is running about $15 per ton today.

A Tandem will hold between 15 to 20 tons and a tri-axle will hold approx. 25 tons. That is a good price. It's going between $15 to $20 ton delivered in Birmingham. FYI

"Crusher run is also referred to as dense grade base. It has a lot of water in it and that is what causes it to set up like concrete as it cures out. You do not have to use a prime with crusher run because it is a water base. In Georgia they have a lot of clay and have to use a prime to prevent the water from seeping through the base material. The key would be to get it compacted well. If it's some small areas, you can rent a small tamp to compact this. FYI : )
