Looked pretty empty when we were by there on Saturday. There was a broom sitting at the door on the inside. I hope they do since they are directly across from us. Sure was nice last year.

Is it for sale? Where is it? I may be interested in buying.

It is on bay Pine Road just off Co road 40 and 280. Look on your lake map. It is marked. The place is for sale by owner and the phone # is in the window. It is owned by a group of people that live on the point . I do not know the asking price. PLEASE go check it out!

I looked at Bay Pine a few years ago. At that time, their fuel storage tanks had some environmental issues with ADEM. I hope they got that cleared up.

It was my understanding that they purchased in out of foreclosure. I heard that it was a little under $300,000. They have made a lot of improvements and added a 2 story building, extended the concrete ramp etc.... We just love it for the convenience and buy most of our gas there. The property up above the store is leased from Alabama Power and it holds all the storage lot and units. It has been very popular with all the tournament boats out of wind creek. Kids love to visit for their snacks, worms etc...It has serviced many families and their employee Sonya was the sweetest lady you could ever have working with you! She is the reason many loved coming there in my opinion.

It is a very viable location, but it will take some more captial improvements to be a viable business. The resturaunt can't open until something is done about the sewage issue. The septic system would not pass inspection before, which is not surprisisng considering the smell that imenated from the restrooms. It was also a foolish decision IMHO not to sell beer. I can appreciate someones values and beliefs against such, but it is a poor business decision for a marina. Several times in the last two years, since they had it, me and my freinds chose Pleasure Point as our stop for the day because we could fill tanks and coolers at the same place.

I don't quite understand the septic issue. If it did not meet approval, it wouldn't be in service now as a restroom. It must have something to do with the capacity usage etc... They had talked about the place being rented by a BBQ in town and the food be catered in for carry-out. When they have sold sandwiches out of the crock pot BBQ, they have done really well. They used the building that they built to sell fireworks, but they started to late and didn't get proper advertising. They didn't sell beer. I agree with you that this was a big factor. It would make a great little gift/art/ tackle shop on the bottom and could be a weekend rental or office upstairs. The rentals around that place seem to always be filled. They added several PWC floaters as well. They have about 7 + dock rental spaces that are rented seasonally. That is what I have observed.
