Why are the marine police so hard to reach for reporting destructive operation of a boat on the lake . If really interested in getting people to slow down in narrow water ways and close to others or their property. Why not have a local number to report the offense . Seems to me with thids service provided it would only take a while to get the word out to slow down or you will be reported . By the way boat AL-7326-lm I have you on tape and will be contacting the marine police for damages caused.
Its this type activity that gives large boats the bad reputation they have.

Good luck on your endeavor.............do the forum a favor and let us know if this approach is effective, or whether it is worth the time and effort.

What is the problem with the wake? We have been up in a slough since
1964. You never know if a boat rides by etc. puts out big wake whatever.

What about tying the boat properly so it will not beat up against the pier.

Or is it just something to complain about.
Before it is over we will be idling from the main channel all way up in the slough.

If attitudes like yours: "MY wake is YOUR fault, and damages caused by MY wake are YOUR problem!" then yes, Lake Martin becoming an "Idle Speed Only" body of water is something to consider.

On the other hand, a little common courtesy, and the problems will all but vanish.

But I've seen and heard too much to expect a little common courtesy from the "ME ME ME!!!" crowd.

Actually, every since I've been told that my concrete sea wall causes all the wash problems because it reflects the waves back into a perpetual motion machine, I'm in the process of blowing it up and starting over with a natural shoreline.

the boat was tied properly when a wake is so large in a area only 150 ft wide that waves SWAMP come over the sides of the boat then its a hazard also while getting pictures of the boat me and my grand daughter were narrowly missed being ran over by these inconserate people as they tried to speed away to keep their identy hid.

The lake needs no wake buoys in many places.....in a 150 foot wide channel (with docks), no wake should be obvious, but its not to some,

if your slough is narrow, you should be at idle....i'll bet the neighbors love you.

Rude I remember seeing that post about seawalls causing a perpetual motion but that is crap.

And IF you weren't dumb as a stump you wouldn't even THINK you saw that post because no such post has been made. The post that I did make stated that waves are the closest thing to perpetual motion to be found on Earth. They loose virtually NO energy until acted on by an outside force i.e., currents, other waves, winds, land, and YES SEAWALLS. The waves bounce off of vertical seawalls and are reflected back into the pool, slightly diminished for the interaction.

Now only and IDIOT would interpret that to read that seawalls create perpetual motion. If is wrong, all you have to do is Google it and post a link that refutes it. I'll be waiting. I am sure it will be a long wait. You probably have sheets that need to be washed.

Please understand one thing, a Marine Police Officer, when present can make an observation based assessment, and if they can catch up with the person, they will ticket them.

Otherwise, if you have taken the time to observe and document an illigal activity, it is up to you to report, and it doesn't have to be the Marine Police, in fact, as a tax payer I would appreciate it if you went to the county Sherrif's office to make your report, as your documentation will not "age" and this situation does not warrant a time precedence.

Question 1, what property was damaged by this act?
Question 2, what is the cost to fix this damage?
Question 3, Did you also get the "name" of the boat?
Question 4, Was the act and damage caught on film, or just the get away?

As we are also intending to "document" illigal activity this season, we would like to get feedback on your experience.

But as I have stated, if your documentation was good enough, the Marine Police aren't who you need to contact. (IMHO)

I looked up your previous posts. two out of the three I selected (of the approx. 15 you have ever made) all were making derogatory remarks to the Marine Police. They took the time to answer your question before (I am pasting below). You should have taken the time then to post on your fridge door...

The office at Wind Creek is the District III office. District III covers Lake Martin, Lake Mitchell, Lake Jordan, Lake Harding, West Point Lake, Lake Eufala, the Alabama River over past Selma, and all the river and creeks in between. There is only administrative work and training done there. It is a Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 office. There is no dispatching from there. If it is not an emergency, leave a message and you will be called back.

We are dispatched primarily through the trooper posts....Alex City and Montgomery....depending on your location on the lake. We also have radio contact with the local counties....Coosa, Elmore, and Tallapoosa.

Alex City Trooper Post (256) 234-7311
Montgomery Trooper Post (334) 242-4128
Coosa County Sheriff's Office (256) 377-4922
Elmore County Sherif's Office (334) 567-5546
Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office (256) 825-4264

Of course, if it is an emergency call 911.

Gary
