Any ideas on how to keep the geese off of my sea wall and front lawn? While they may be nice to look at they are making a terrible mess.

I've gotta agree with jrh3 on that one. They are nice to look at - as long as they are on someone else's yard.

We have a couple of labs that keep them off ours - if you would like, I will loan you my dogs for 5-6 years. :) I guarantee you that they will keep all geese and ducks off your property - of course the piles of dog-poo and chewed up (anything left in the yard) might be a little worse than the goose-poo.

Goose was the traditional thanksgiving dinner at my Grandmothers house years ago; food for thought......or maybe a thought for food.

I've heard sprinkling some Tide detergent around will keep them away. I don't know if it would harm the lawn and I don't even know if it works but thought I'd share.

Otherwise, my wife has a great recipe for orange sauce that goes great with goose if you choose the 12 guage idea.

Peace,

A friend has one of these to shoot squirrels and annoying birds in his back yard. It is very accurate and deadly for unwanted animals.

in the detergent won't hurt the geese but will kill your centipede.

Geese are really bad at spreading e-coli. Sooner or later something will have to be done. They have closed areas of West Point Lake because of this problem.
