A terrible accident occurred on this date. A group of 12 people stopped to swim at 11:30 pm on a Saturday night in open water. Another boater struct this party causing death and injuries. I now hear that the swimming party has filed a lawsuit (by J. Beasley) against the other boaters' father (a doctor), the manufacturer of his little runabout boat, the manufacturer of their poontoon boat, and Sinclairs' Resturant where all had left from earlier. What is up with this?

The Alex City "Outlook" newspaper reported a law suit regarding this accident in last Sunday's paper.

I am sure this is not a surprise.

The article did not mention all the defendents you pointed out, but this is not a surprise either. Attorneys normally would file against any and every possible/potential responsible party to the loss or injury.

and many posts on this issue. This was a terrible tragedy and it should put every one on notice when it comes to personal responsibility; something which far too many in today's world are unwilling to accept.

This brings to mind about the Amtrack wreck in Mobile. On the news the lawyers were trying to get to the accident sight to make sure that the victims were getting proper representation. This was before all the bodies were removed. Can we say scumbag. Prayers go to all.

This is why we need reform in our laws. There is a lady in Mountain Brook, Al that is suing her church because she fell in the parking lot. Yes, I said her CHURCH! Nothing surprises me anymore.
