Oakachoy Creek is steady rain, light to moderate. NEXRAD looks like steady and heavier rains for tonight acording to the approaching bands.

I saw two down trees on my way from Montgomery today. One on Hwy 259 near Eclectic that a state vehicle was cleaning up... The other was on Hwy 20. I was able to pick up half of it. Be careful out there.

For DirecTV, these storm clouds are a total blackout for me. However, I don't have the bigger SlimLine dish and mine is shooting through trees... I would be interested in how other peoples DirecTV and Dish receptions are doing during this storm (how long was it out and what type of system do you have).

I am enjoying the sound of rain staring at the lake out the window.

Ok, I think I hear bad weather sirens... I'm aware of sirens in Elmore County... From here they sound like a ceiling fan with a bad motor.

Where is Oakachoy Creek located?

West end of lake... Pass by Willow Point / Veazy's Marina keeping the shorline on your right side.. Pass through an inlet about 1,000 feet north of Veazy's. Then go straight across that open water area through what is called "The Narrows". I guess at that point it would be considered Oakachoy Creek.

There are two main creek fingers going into Coosa County (Oakachoy and Parker).

Oakachoy creek itself crosses Hwy 259.

Bruce, we have Dish and the only time it went completly out was for the couple of hours the power was out Saturday afternoon. It lost signal one time for a couple of minutes and came right back up later Saturday night.

Outside we could hear that weather siren loud and clear. Does anybody know where it is, we have never heard it before.

Do you live near StillWaters? They have a weather siren, which is fairly new, I think.
