It's already at 464.32 and rising. Maybe Labor Day weekend will be at full pool after all. I would almost say that Elmer, Buggs, and the rest of the Looney Tunes who run the show knew what they were doing, but Weiss is still down by 1.5 feet.
My guess is that greed caused them to run the turbines to generate electricity... that way they could buy less coal. After all, they need to save as much as possible in order to pay for those bird commercials. Be safe.

"pay for those bird commercials" now that was funny!

I hate those birds, and while 99.9% reliability is great for most things, for your power service it is not so great. Actually I wish my power was that reliable in Bham. It goes off on average every 3-4 weeks for about an hour. Just enough to be really annoying.

I have given up on keeping my clocks right on my answering machine and microwave it goes off so often at my house. They have to advertise (even though we have no other choice of provider) to keep their cost up so they can get rate increases then they stop the ads after they get the increase. They use our money to tell us how great they are. Just a racket.

Looks like you guys will be at full pool by the end of the day.

But two issues ahead:

- Gustav is heading our way
- The Alabama River is beginning to overflow its banks downstream.

So where is all this water going to go if Gustav brings significant rain to AL.

So be careful what you ask for LOL. Not that any of us are complaining about the current levels compared to last several years, but this could also have a boomerang effect as well.

As back in the late 70's and then again in the 90's I have seen Logan Martin overflow its banks several times and flood house that were 40 feet up on a rather significant upward slope. I would have to say 8 to 10 feet or so above its normal full pool, if not more.
