Go to boat maintenance to see my bet with CAT. It will be fun and we will post results tomorrow.

Well,... The headlines read "CAT TOPLES 8 AFTER COMING BEHIND SOMEONE ELSE AND WINS BET". Or maybe it should read "8 REPLACES DEPTH FINDER BECAUSE ENGINE ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF". Sorry 8, had to do it. Enjoy your boat with no BEEP BEEP. It was good to meet you today. On another note, we are sending a crew for winterization in a couple of weeks. Let me know if we need to stop by.

The scary part is the alarm quit after I replaced the DF (or as you know by now - paid to have the DF replaced!!!!!).

This has all been worth the early trip down from Bham and back by lunch to slay the dragons at work. If I can find your shop I am going to drop by next trip to Pratville.

All the best to you and DeDe.

And I say, if you are the only two participating in this email, why not just email each other and leave everyone else out of the loop!

I just read all of your 11 post made. You are an expert in Restaurants and Lake levels, as well as history and food taste! Oh yea, and making reservations and singing kareoke while deciding what time to stop singing... 8 and I happen to be experts at beating each other over the "Head" with a "Blue Chair", and I am trying to hire "Clearwater". Now, we will wait for post number 12. Thanks for highjacking the thread. I am done with it now, but it was fun. "Bling it On".

I'm pissed you didn't put the bet on the forum sooner......If I'd known you were going to be in the hood, I would have come up with a problem I could have won some money on! However, I am glad the beeping has gone away.

I'll take it, you live close by, and have grown weary of the noise... LMAO. I'll be back soon.

The beeping was annoying, but it probably wasn't as noisy as the 50+ Auburn girls spending the night at my place tonight from my daughters sorority; sorry neighbors........

Some of us enjoyed this thread... even if it really didn't pertain to us. We all know that CAT knows what he is talking about, at least about boats. And some of us might be having the same problems.....

Just my thoughts on it.

I guess with the lack of any real topics being posted you have to grasp at what is here! The way things are set up on these boats and cars today all you need to do is plug in a laptop and the boat tells you what it needs. Gone are the days of folks having to be smarter than the object they are working on.

that people aren't as smart as computers?
I actually find the newer stuff harder to work on because of all of the computerized .... crap..... under the hood. Maybe it's just me!

What I'm saying is that you (the tech.) don't have to think about it anymore (thus the smarter than what you're working on comment) you only plug in a laptop or a PC and read the information. Even my 2001 Sea Doo GTXDI has this. I watched a guy in Cartersville Ga. plug one in, it gives you real time readings for all the sensors, you can test each one, it gives you fault codes for sensors, how many times the fault occurred, no guess work anymore. There is no more if it has fire and is getting fuel it should run, you can still diagnose it the old fashion way by testing each sensor, switch ect. If you have a very good shop manual and a good multi-meter, which is how I have to do it on my cars since I do not have the programs and cables needed to hook up a PC. Pretty soon you'll need a laptop to work on a lawn mower! So yes you are right it’s harder to work on if you do not have the right equipment.
