Just wondering here....

There seems to be some rotten tomatoes (figuratively speaking) thrown at RL amongst some of the forum posters. Other than being successful at many things and enterprisingly fortunate, what's the fripe with RL company? Tell me it isnt envy. His developments are eye candy for anyone.

Depends on your definition of eye candy. I prefer smaller, less ostentatious houses that nestle into the trees, not audacious monstrosities that sit in the middle of a clear-cut. I also prefer to look up at night and see a sky filled with stars, not a starless sky that's the color of buttermilk because of all the streetlights in those developments.

I also don't like people who think that they are above the rules that govern the rest of us, but we can't talk about that here.

Wake up.... Progress is Progress. Sorry. It's time for things to turn. I'm tired of working twice as hard, and getting half as much. My .02 worth.

And exactly what does my preference for environmentally-friendly houses have to do with you working twice as hard for half as much?

...bury it in the yard. That way the Dems can't touch it unless they take your house.

CAT means that he is ready for business to pick back up. Car sales are a little slack right now.

How bad are sales? We sell to the automotive industry and to distributors who sell to dealerships and repair shops. That portion of our business was up 10% year to date as of the end of September. October Sales figures for that segment of our business are of 30% year to year.

About a month ago, my DH and I went up to the local Ford dealship to look at the new Flex. The salesman has called me at least 3 times since then about my interest in the Flex. I suspect car sales are slow right now because of all the publicity that people can't get car loans. Like houses, I think this is probably a good time to buy if you are in the market for a new one. I'm still trying to decide if I am, but after looking at it, I don't think I want the Flex.

I've gotten several calls and written ads about the Flex. I don't like the looks of it so much. So you didn't like it either?

"development" of lakeshore property is always a hot topic on the "Forum". Some don't mind a shoreline that looks like Miami Beach while others don't want any changes to happen at all.
The money and the landowners will decide it, not the Forum, thus, some here pull RL into the debate. Land and money. Win, every time.

New car sales are down significantly. I believe you cater to Used car sales if I remember correctly. Used car sales are not suffering so bad. Dealers are trying very hard to "Recondition". I think that is where your product lands. Also, Dealer Service Departments are somewhat busy, and I think they play a big part in your industry. Correct me if I am wrong, my memory aint what it used to be.

No. I didn't think it was much fun to drive. The acceleration was just okay. It's a very heavy vehicle. The base price is in the high 20's, but to get it equipped the way I would want it would run about $40K, and I certainly didn't like it that much. One interesting option -- you can get it with a refrigerator. I don't think it will be produced for long. I think people that needed that much space would opt for a minivan.
