John McCain made a classy concession speech. It must have been very hard for him, as it would be for anyone.

Now all of us working idiots will have the honor of supporting those who are less fortunate. We hope that socialized health care brings us the long waits for tests and surgeries because people will no longer feel the pressure to attend school for 8 years so that they can accumulate wealth for themselves. Businesses will not feel the pinch of having to hire more employees in a ploy to create more profits. Long live the USSR. I mean USA.

I am an optimist most of the time. Really. I was more against Obama than I was for McCain. None of that matters now. I truly hope BO can live up to a tenth of what he espouses. I don't believe it though, and the future appears pretty bleak right now. The middle class, the working class are about to be hit in the next year or so with a harsh reality of Democratic Socialism to an extent that may be worse than Jimmy Carter's tenure. I hate this more for my children than I do myself. It will be interesting to see how things progress and how long it takes the media and all the people who got sucked into this myth to turn on him.

In the meantime, we will survive, some way.

Dang it, did it again.. Maybe some day I'll learn that hitting "Enter" is not the way to getfrom the "Subject" to the "Message" section of a post.......you know we Republicans don't know how to use computers....:>)

My biggest fear is that the Democrats might end up with enough votes in the Senate to shut down one of the only tools the Republicans have left - the filibuster.

I am very dismayed that so many Americans bought into the aura, the facade, the charade, and the out-and-out lies. I thought maybe they would come to their senses before the election, but the economic ills put McCain at too much of a disadvantage.

And in spite of my unwavering support for John McCain, his choice of running mates might have hurt him badly. She is female and conservative, but as it turns out she didn't exhibit the qualities that were needed as a VP.

He ran a very good campaign and considering the headwinds that McCain had in this cycle he did fine. Byron York has a repeat/revised piece about what sank McCain. When I read the original article I got very depressed and the new piece is pretty on target.

What is interesting is Obama received the same number of votes as Bush in 2004 (~62 million) but McCain has received about 3 million less than Kerry did so the the projections of a historic turnout seems to be off target. The difference appears to be the increased black vote and the Republican base staying away. Exactly as Obama's campaign planned. As I said in earlier posts, shame on us.

We will now see whether he is more ambitious than ideological. I am hoping for ambitious. I will repost my predictions for the next two years and see how I do.
