Talk about change, Obama has his first scandel before he even gets into office. That's what he gets for parading around with his Office of the President-Elect and trying to govern before he even gets in office. Is there anyone out there who really believes that the sitting Senator elected to the White House had no contact with the corrupt DEMOCRAT governor about who would be appointed to his seat?!?!? I give Obama the benefit of the doubt that he is not dumb enough to participate in this corruption, but he lied to the American people when he said he had no contact about this issue. It directly contradicts what Axelrod said definitively (when it didn't matter) and defies common sense,
Change: Bill Clinton's third term and lying to the public before he even takes office. You asked for it, you got it.

He has already answered all the tough questions about his contacts with Rezko, Wright, Flanders (sp), Blago... right? We've got the Daly machine about to take over the Executive Branch. Will be fun to find out who this is because he stated the following:
“Advisor B stated that he likes the idea, but liked the Change to Win option better because, according to Advisor B, from the president-elect’s perspective, there would be fewer ‘fingerprints’ on the president-elect’s involvement with Change to Win, because Change to Win already has an existing stream of revenue and, therefore, ‘you won’t have stories in four years that they bought you off.’”
This is right from the criminal complaint transcripts of conversations. Certainly sounds like the Messiah was in the know on this criminal enterprise. What a surprise considering he cut his teeth on the Chicago political machine run by DEMOCRATS. I await GF, Hound and others calls for Blago to resign and for a release of the identity of Advisor B. This is gong to be way more entertaining than even I imagined.

Yep, he was fully vetted by the media.......ack.....gasp.... We are getting what they asked for, a bunch of novice criminals. They will definitely need Billary to help them contain all the scandels which I am sure is one of many reasons why he is putting them on the team. Experienced and ready to answer the phone at 3am?

First, tell them you didn't recall any of the conversations and were distracted with running the Office of the President Elect and doing the people's business. I know it sounds stupid but the mainstream media will let you get away with it and I'll get the word out so they have their talking points. Second, tell them this is just another example of the right-wing attack machine trying to bring down another Democrat. They fall for it every time. Finally, find out who is prosecuting this thing and destroy them. Destroy their reputation, find any dirt you can. Go on the attack and let me get back to bed!

Hmmmm. He refuses to answer questions about this growing scandel. And all before Mr. Agent of Change is even inagurated........can the mainstream media continue to obfuscate? Will they actually look into this? Is there anyone left in the mainstream media that hasn't been laid off? Will any of the papers survive bankruptcy?

Serious Question...........what logical reason would US Attorney Fitzgerald have for stopping the investigations before the string played out i.e. all the colluding parties that they may have identified? And, did he pull the plug before any felony was committed by anyone??? My bet is Blago's life may not be worth much right now........he's gonna cause a lot of pain before this is over.

It all goes back to Rezko!! I even made a post abouthim singing like a bird wehn the feds announced they had 'postponed' his sentencing.. O may have plausible denialbillity on this one, maybe..., but how can he live in a toilet and NEVER get any of the crap on himself. He can't, nobidy can. CHANGE Right on. From the back room deals of Washington to doing the dirty deed right out in the open and in your face, CHICAGO STYLE.
Gonna be a fun four years.

I thought about posting to this thread, but the truth is, I don't know what to think. I doubt that Obama was directly involved, because I don't think he would risk the Presidency, but his staff???? I don't know. I'm uneasy after yesterday's press session, because he said it would take "a few days" to identify which members of his staff was talking to the Governor.
I'm not ready to tar and feather him, but I'm uneasy.
But, I'm really watching the auto bailout.

I too doubt he was "personally" involved. What would make me queasy as an Obama supporter was the language used by Advisor B who stated that Obama was at least in the know about this union job and appearance of a quid pro quo for the Senate seat. From everything I have read this is standard operating procedure in the Chicago political environment and it is inconceivable to me that Obama could not only survive, but thrive, in such a cesspool and yet never be involved. This is clearly an area of his background that the mainstream media should have been more diligent.
If I were you I would be very uneasy, not just about this but about the singing Tony Rezko. He is under the auspices of Mr. Fitzgerald and as we saw with his work on Libby, he will find a way to indict someone and I don't think he will care if it is Emmanuel, Jackson or Obama.

Lest anyone try to imply otherwise, Obama has close ties to Blagojevich.
Rahm Emanuel, Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, told the New Yorker earlier this year that he and Obama crafted Blagojevich's first gubernatorial campaign. "We participated in a small group that met weekly when Rod was running for governor. We basically laid out the general election, Barack and I..."
On 27 June 2002, then-state Sen. Obama said, "Right now, my main focus is to make sure that we elect Rod Blagojevich as governor." In 2004, then-Gov. Blagojevich returned the favor with his fervent endorsement of Obama for the U.S. Senate and in 2005, Obama endorsed Blagojevich for re-election.
Despite the fact that Obama knew Blagojevich was under investigation for serious corruption issues, he said of Blagojevich, "We've got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois."
Delivered for a price.
The complaint against Blagojevich outlines what federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald calls a "staggering" trail of corruption, and even ropes in another Obama benefactor, Tony Rezko, whose arrangements concerning Obama's home purchase are now the subject of a criminal investigation. Rezko is "cooperating with authorities."
Fitzgerald is tenacious, and will bulldog this investigation wherever it leads, unless, of course, the president-elect determines after 20 January that Fitzgerald's services are no longer needed.
Obama, in desperate need of his teleprompter, said Wednesday, "I had no contact with the governor what -- or, uhhh -- or his office, uhhh, and so we -- I -- I -- I was not aware of, uh, what was happening. And as I said, uh, it's a sad day for Illinois. Uh, beyond that, I don't think it's appropriate to comment."
"Not appropriate to comment?" How about showing some indignation and moral outrage, or a simple stumble-free assurance that he will support Fitzgerald's investigation going forward, no matter where it leads?
Asked whether any of his aides spoke with Blagojevich, Obama said: "Let me stop you there because it's an ongoing investigation. I think it would be inappropriate for me to, you know, remark on the situation..."
I guess Obama is borrowing a page from Bill Clinton's dictionary. Instead of "It depends on what the meaning of 'is' is," Obama is claiming, "It depends on what the meaning of 'contact' is."
Complicating matters for Obama, on 5 November, KHQA-TV in Quincy, Ill., reported Obama and Blagojevich were about to meet: "Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled. That's one of Obama's first priorities today. He's meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it." On 8 November, the station confirmed, "Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement."
KHQA has removed the story from their Web site and denies any knowledge such a meeting took place.
Now, I would never suggest that the TV media always get it right, or that they ever get it right. However, there is a problem in regard to another televised interview, this one with Obama's senior advisor David Axelrod.
On 23 November, ABC carried an interview on Chicago's WFLD-TV in which Axelrod claimed matter-of-factly, "I know [Obama] has talked to the governor and there are a whole range of names many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them."
Within minutes of Obama's disclaimer about any such meeting, Alexrod released this statement: "I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the president-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject."
One of Axelrod's statements is false -- we may never know which one -- but he had no reason to lie the first time.
There is no suggestion in the Blagojevich complaint that Obama was directly involved in any of the shenanigans regarding who would fill his Senate seat, but the words "president-elect" appear 44 times in the indictment.
Like the Clintons, Obama is surely smart enough to have insulated any involvement in this racket with cutouts, disposable emissaries who can take one for the team if necessary. (Expect that player's name to surface soon.) But it is worth noting that the last guy Patrick Fitzgerald successfully prosecuted for perjury in connection with a federal investigation was Scooter Libby, who testified he had "no recollection" of the conversation that got him convicted.
Moreover, Blagojevich knows where all the Chicago political skeletons are hidden, and facing 30 years in the big house, he will certainly cut a deal and lead prosecutors to a few of them -- perhaps even one or two in the president-elect's closet. Of course, some 66 million voters did not care about any of this corruption six weeks ago, and are likely to turn an equally blind eye and deaf ear to it now.
