We love Yellow Hammer but it is so far away from where we are. We are so excited to hear about Green Valley opening soon on Friday and Saturday nights for dinner. The young lady that owns Green Valley said that this Winter/Recession has been tough but she is hanging in there and has conceeded to our begging us to feed us at night. We have gone there on the Wednesday nights when the guys play guitars and I swear that is the best steak in three counties!!! The menu is going to include Cajun food and choices from the grill. We cant wait!!!

Cool, hadn't heard that yet. I think her family is from New Orleans, so Cajun should be good. I agree on the steak, but tried the grilled tuna last time and it was great. Are Friday and Saturday nights the only nights or still on Wednesdays too?

Have had lunch there many times, but have never tried it on Wednesday evenings. We'll have to try it soon. Does it generally get crowded?

It's on 229 off of 63.

I too have only eaten lunch there, but like it a lot better than Catherine's. I also like to give our business to the little guy (or lady). Maybe this will help them make it. We all need to try and go during the week more. No place can make it with just weekend customers. Also hope they add a few more tables inside. It is often full at lunch, but during the day you can eat outside - not so at night in the winter months.

Turn south on 229 off of 63 and it's a few miles down on the left.

Catherines is working out the kinks, as any new place has; Friday night wine tasting had about 75 there; everyone was having a great time; for those who frequent a new place once & complain, why not give the constrructive criticism to the manager instead of posting you will never go there again; the 'sister' market in Bham does very well & I'm sure, given some time , Catherines will also;

I just finished looking at your website (greenvalleymarket.com) and am looking forward to coming up for dinner either next Wednesday or Saturday with my wife and a few friends. Do we need reservations?

Also you may want to put Contact Info on your website, and directions or address.

We are looking forward to it.
I dont know if I want Tuna or Fillet.

Catherine's is wonderful and so is the Green Valley Cafe. Both are great dining options. It looks like Catherine's is working out the kinks to me. It was slam packed on Friday night from what I hear, and also a very good crowd on Sunday.

thank you so much for checking out our website!!! I am currently in the process of building the website myself!! I will fix hat tomorrow morning. As for dinner...Wednesday night dinners are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (that is when the guys come to play), and we will be starting our Friday and Saturday night dinners the first weekend in Feb.
Thanks for all of your interest!!

Thanks, we look forward to it.

What about reservations, necessary or not?

Also, I hate to be a critic, but reread your paragraph on your restaurants home page. I know your working on it, you have a typo or two on there.

for lunch. Whoever it was that said it is better than Catherine's is right. It was really, really good. And it's such a charming environment and would make a really cool dinner spot.

How far down is 229 from Alexander City? We are have to search far and wide for quality dining when visiting our lake home. The word "Cajun" makes my mouth water. Any red beans and rice? What is the web address? Can someone send it to me if it cannot be posted here? I'm hungry just thinking about it. We will come check it out for sure! I would like to see someone take over Frankies and make it a killer hamburger place with dock side to go service because there is no place to park!

if you are heading down 229 away from Alex City, you go over the bridge, past Childrens Harbor and about 1 mile farther to the intersection of Hwy 229...(Right at the Lake Martin Mini Mall)...turn left onto 229 and go about 2.5 miles and we are on the left...website is greenvalletmarket.com

hope to see you soon
