We did Catherines wine tasting tonight. what a great event and deal. very fun. for $5 they had a distributor with 5 wines they featured. a very nice selection of cheese, meats and spreads to nibble on as well. then if if buy one of the featured wines they take the $5 off the bottle.

They also offer 5% off any 6 bottles and 15% off 12. Well, i am such a wine lover i easily found 12 bottles from their great selection.

What a great addition and by the turn out at the wine tasting it looks like they have a good following. we are going back for breakfast tomorrow.

May try the mexican restaurant tomorrow night ... we ate at Sinclairs tonight after the tasting and hated it. That place is rank and can't wait until the Springhill restaurant opens next to Catherines.

Are there any Local Vinyards around here? My Dad is an Amature Wine maker and likes to tour different Vinyards and such. I thought if there are any in the area I would take him the next time he comes down for a visit.

Thanks

Not a wino myself, but Morgan Creek is in Harpersville, just off 280.

It is a beautiful place. While you are there, you might want to see if anything is going on at the Baker farm. It is just down the road a mile or less. They have all kinds of festivals such as the big Indian Festival etc. You can also take a horseback tour through the farm. There is a petting farm etc.. We go each christmas and fall for trees and pumkins, horse rides, hay rides, mazes etc....
Morgan creek is a muscadine based wine but a very wide selection. My sister chose it for her wedding because it was so good and there was such a selection for the diverse taste of everyone. Great gift shop as well. They do a lot of weddings out there in the.
Enjoy

Just remember that Harpersville is one of the nations top speed traps.

There is another winery in Alpine which is very close to Harpersville. Can't remember the name right now though.

They grow quite a few grapes but do not know if they make any wine. I have wanted to stop and see it if possible but have not marked that off my bucket list yet.

I can't believe you asked WW that. LOL! Have you tried that winery on 280 (is it past childersburg??)? I hear the wines are not too bad.
