Here we go with the next Obama cabinet choice who is not only a tax cheat but he and his wife are super lobbyists. Isn't it ironic that the very same people who view the solution to any problem is to raise taxes seem all too eager to cheat on their own? Much easier to spend other people's money isn't it? What a bunch of hypocrites!
I would love to say that the door is open to any kind of reprobate to be chosen for a Republican administration but I know that liberals and the media have no problem with the double standard. When you stand for nothing moral you can be immoral and condemn the immorality of others. Must be nice......
By the way, note to the Messiah, leadership is not continuously talking down the economy in order to get your non-stimulus, pork-filled, big government plan passed. The President needs to lead which means being cognizant of what is happening in the economy while not contributing to its downward spiral. Only when the consumer has confidence will the consumer begin to spend. Only when businesses have confidence will they begin to spend on capital purchases. Hearing BO tell us every day that things are going to get a lot worse before they get really bad doesn't inspire much confidence does it? That is why hundreds of billions (if not trillions) of dollars are sitting on the sideline right now. Isn't there one adult in the administration that can tell him he doesn't need to tell us every Saturday that the world is coming to an end.

Well, if he is the Messiah and he says the world is going to end, maybe you should listen up (smile).
Of course, we all know that the world is going to end in 2012 since Nostradomus or some other ancient sage foretold it. I guess in 2011 we better party like it's 1999.

Lowering expectations now and then in 2-3 years, after it turns out to be not nearly so bad as he would have us believe and he claims how much "progress" we've made, is all a prt of his reelection strategy.
If there indeed ends up being a second BHO term, Katy bar the door.
Just my opinion.....so far.

Or you make it appear much worse than it really is, and then when it gets a bit better you take the credit for fixing it. It's like when you go to a new job and quickly start a reorganization so it looks like you've done something to improve efficiency.

What I find interesting on so many levels are the number of people proposed for appointment who suddenly figure out that they may have a problem -- like not paying their taxes or hiring illegal nannies or housekeepers. You'd think if you were in pubic life, you would be scrupulous about that kind of thing.

I agree ... I mean you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that a public servant will be reviewed very closely should they ever aspire to a higher office. But even if they do not, you would think someone that is making laws that other have to live by would be squeeky clean in their observance of those laws.

I will keep my ears and mind open to the Messiah's message but I am not ready to drink the kool aid just yet. :-) I did hate to hear about 2012 being the end although it does solve my 401k currently being a 101k!
Seriously, I am one who believes that the President should have the cabinet of his choice but you would think he would consider cheating on taxes as an obvious disqualifier. If it were a Republican he and the media would be howling about this and saying "I'm sorry" would somehow not be nearly enough.
I agree that it is crazy that these people cheat on their taxes and then agree to the scrutiny of a confirmation hearing. It always comes out but so far there have been no real consequences beyond a couple of tough questions at some hearing that no one except inside the beltway types actually watch. I can only imagine how good it must feel for you to have escaped the nonsense of DC for the real world of Lake Martin.

I love living here.
The shaking and baking in Washington gets really tiring. Some people love it, but I was never one of those people. I don't miss it at all.
I think that anyone who has ethical or legal issues should not be permitted to be appointed. It's supposed to be an honor to serve and be someone that deserves the public trust. How can you be a good steward of the public's money if you can't manage your own life?
