Glad to see that the original owners, Rodger and Debbie, of the Lake Martin Mini Mall on HWY 63 just south of Kowaliga Bridge are back and looking to be open full time once again very soon. The Big Green Egg is by far the best grill/smoker ever that they sell! Just grilled steaks and chicken breasts last night for Super Bowl Party! Yummy!

Hallelujah!! Did I spell that right? Yeah!! welcome back. We were delighted to hear roger and debbie were coming back. My mom used to say " I ain't been right since the baby came" Well the mini mall ain't been right since they left. I stopped in last week and they have a HUGE Big Green Egg display and a beautiful outdoor kitchen appliance display. Rodger told me they were getting shipments in every day to re-stock the place. They always had great quality and service next to none.
Best of luck to you guys- we're really glad to see you return

Good. I bought a great outdoor fountain from them several years ago....yes, they were the owners....and love it. Outdoor furniture is now on the list for my new porch and outdoor patio. Can't wait.

Don't get me started on the Big Green Egg. I could go on for days about this magical grill. Best darn invention ever created by man (next to Beer). Owned mine for 1.5 years and have yet to take anything off of it that wasn't absolutely delicous! Don't know why anyone would buy a big stainless steel grill for more than $1,000 when the Egg is much less and waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better for steaks and low and slow!

We have heard rumor of new shops opening up in Dadeville on the square. Already they have had a couple open that are great, we all need to really support these lake businesses so that they stay in business !and add to the atmosphere of the lake

Debbie and Rodger leased the mini mall to some other folks for a while and I believe that's when some of the less desirable items were there. The Moores always had good taste and quality merchandise. Again-can't wait til they're back

I heard that someone bought a building in front of the court house my Lee Sims Law Offices- that it was going to be called, The Red Door, and would have booths for people to rent and they would have coffee and pastries!? Also heard that someone new bought the Tanning Bed building behind the court house and some kind of new shop was going in there offering coffee as well! Wouldn't it be great to have an area to enjoy shopping, lunch and pastries! I have been to the shops there now and they are really great for such a small town. Lollipops and Gumdrops have darling custom made clothing for children as well as all kinds of monogramed items- much like, Kelly's Kids. The Blue Hydrangea has really different items at great prices, you just don't see things like they have everywhere. They even have the retro Lake Martin signs and they are at a better price than in Alex City. The Cottage of Shops has opened a new store in the old bank building and they offer ice-cream and different vendors rent space to sell antiques and such. Go Dadeville- we are proud of you! I for one will do my part in shopping with these local businesses.

A family member has one and everything that comes off of it tastes overly smoked. Am I right in thinking he probably just doesn't know how to use it properly?
I know it can be used as a smoker, but even used as a grill everything has that overly smokey taste.
Also, has anyone ever baked bread or pizza in it? I have this idea that because it is stone, it might be good for that.

The Lake Martin Mini Mall can address all of your questions. Although the Lake Martin Mini Mall is open now, the Grand Opening is set for March 21-22. A BIG GREEN EGG WILL BE GIVEN AWAY AT THE GRAND OPENING! There will be demo cooking on the Big Green Egg during the grand opening.
